Nail Art Stamping II

Hi Beauties!

Its been a long time that I have not done any post on nails. So here in one for you. I took a break from applying nail colors so that my nails could breathe and become pink again. So two days back I did some nail art with the new stapming plate that I recently bought from JMC.

This is an XL stamping plate that has I guess 42 different stamping designs. As a complimentary gift I got nail tips. The nail tips are of 3 different styles. These are really helpful for doing a neat and tidy French tips application. Thanks to JMC for sending me this complimentary gift.

This is a full view of the plate. You can click on the image to view it larger and see the designs clearly.

Lower half designs of the plate

Upper half designs of the plate

I also did a look with the new plate ;) and by the way do not forget to remove the blue plastic covering over the plate before using it. My most favorite part is removing the cover and seeing my reflection in the plate. I knw its very childish :p

I used Medora nail color for the base and black stamping nail art color for the design.

Here is the final look. I know its not perfect. But what, I am still trying :p

Above, I have circled the design I stamped on my nails. Though it looks completely different on my nails due to my bad application. But seriously this is the one!

I hope you liked my new nail plate. You can buy it from JMC Nail Art Islamabad for Rs 1450 I think.... Check out her Facebook page she has so many other amazing designs as well and that too in stock. So order before she runs out of stock. Hope you liked my post. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Medora Nail Color in 479

Hi Beauties!

You know how much I love nail colors. Every time I see a unique shade I just cant resist buying it. I am so glad to see the color variety Medora has. I actually feel proud knowing that a local Pakistani brand which people usually do not bother with just because it is cheap has such lovely colors in its collection. The best part about Medora is that its really very bery cheap and affordable. In the remote areas of Pakistan it still is a very popular brand. I remember my mom using Medora lipsticks when the choices of make up were very limited like two decades ago.

So coming to the review part, as usual I went to Victoria Departmental Store on Link Road Model Town and saw this wonderful shade. I really liked the shade. Its an aqua green teal sort of shade and looks quite different. Its a great color to be worn in summers as it really brightens up the hands.

Medora nail colors come in different sizes. This is ml bottle made of glass. The handle has a good grip and helps in easy application of the color. The brush is long with a moderate spread and provides good coverage over the nails.

See my hand below, I have applied two coats of this shade and the coverage is pretty opaque. I have not applied any base coat or top. The shine you see is the original shine of the color. As for the lasting power of the nail color I would say it lasts good for two days and slightly starts to chip off after two days from the tips.

I am always satisfied by using Medora nail colors and absolutely love them. The best part comes with the price. These nail colors only cost Rs. 95. They are soooo affordable and of good quality. I would rate Medora nail colors 4/5. Hope you liked my nail color. Have you tried this color before? Do you like it? Drop in your comments to let me know. I love to read your comments. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Nail color Dryer

Hi Beauties!

Like you all know I am a huge nail polish fan and most of the times my nails are colored. I change my nail color on almost regular basis, which means I need something to quick dry the nail polish on my nails to save time. I saw a nail polish dryer on JMC Nail Art Islamabad's Facebook's page and placed an order. The box arrived the very next day containing my nail polish dryer.

The nail polish dryer comes in a thin corrugated cardboard box with dryer picture on both ends, top and bottom. Inside it lies a nice white colored nail polish dryer.

The nail polish dryer is made up of light plastic. The finishing of the machine is just average. By looking at it, it does not give you the look of a classy high end machine rather it gives an average mediocre look. The machinery and the gadget itself is really light weight and you can hardly feel it around which I would say is a good thing because this makes it travel friendly.

The above picture shows small air outlets. This is where the air comes out for the purpose of nail polish drying. I must say the outlets are really small. Either it has got to have a strong fan or some bigger outlets.

The machine functions by two AA sized batteries. I am using Energizer alkaline batteries for my machine. You can use any AA sized cells. Enough said about the physical attributes of the machine now coming to my experience of it.

One needs to place hand on the base tray of the machine and apply a little pressure. It presses down and activates the fan. The fan blows the air to dry the nail color. I must admit I had really high expectations from this machine but it did not turn out that great. Firstly the outlook of the machine is just average, finishing is not fine. Secondly the fan is not strong enough to dry the nail color quickly. Very little air blows out of the outlets and it does not make much difference whether one is using the dryer to dry nail polish or not. The difference is very insignificant. This machine cost me Rs. 1,475 exclusive of delivery charges and is not worth the money. I would rate it 2/5 and leave the choice upon you to try it or not. Hope you liked my review. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Goofing with Fimo canes!!

Hi Beauties!
Here is a fun post for you girls. I am going to share my first ever experience with fimo canes. This post is for all those who fail in their first attempts, be it at applying fimo canes or creating an eye look or a flawless makeup application. Its ok if you do not do well the first time. It requires time and practice to improve so do not lose hope and be a little patient. So here is my first goofy attempt to putting on fimos on my nails :)

Here is what I used:

1. A nail color to serve as a base coat. Im using Sally Hansen French shell shimmer in natural color. It has shimmer particles and gives out a very natural shimmery glow to the nails.

2. A blade to cut the fimos. I tried this surgical blade and later a paper cutter too but my hands gave away. I am going to get myself a proper fimo cutter now. I found it really hard to cut fimos :(

3. A fimo cane. I purchased a few from from JMC. You can check out its Face book page by clicking on the link. I also did a haul post for the things I got formyself. You can also view the post for fimos here. Each fimo cost me around Rs. 100.

4. A nail glue. I used Kroxx nail glue. Got it for Rs. 60 from Raja Sahib Link Road Model Town.

5. A clear top coat. I am using Medora base coat for top coating after the application of fimos. Its for Rs. 95 and is available at almost all cosmetics and departmental stores.

How I did it and what Happened:

I started off with applying Sally Hansen French shell shimmer as a base coat and letting it dry. When I was sure it has dried off I started off with cutting the fimo stick with the surgical blade you see above in the pictures. My Goodness! I never thought I'll be required to take in some energy boosting tabs before cutting them. I found it really hard to cut them, required quite some force. I thought maybe its the blade so I used a paper cutter instead but that too was of no avail. The results were the same. Few of them were really thick some of them slashed from the middle and they got cut in whatever mood the fimo felt like. Oh well I did not want to waste them and wanted to see how they look on my nails so I still used them. I put a drop of Kroxx nail glue on the nail where I wanted to stick the fimos and with the help of a tweezer I put the fimo over the glue drop. Apply a little pressure over the fimo with the tweezer for sometime till you are sure that fimo is sticked in place. You might notice the fimo slipping here and ther over the nail but you will get a hang of how much pressure to apply so that the fimo does not move. After sticking all the fimos I applied the Medora top coat and let it dry. Here is the final look

See how uneven and thick the fimos I have cut. But not to worry, this was my first attempt and I intend to improve with every application. My morale is still high :p I'll definitely do another post when I apply them again. This was all to my first encounter with fimos, I hope you enjoyed my goofy post. Drop in your comments and let me know. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Medore Nail Color in 349

Hi Beauties!

The most views I get on my blog on daily basis is on Medora products. I am amzaed to see the trend because I never expected Medora to be such a widely googled product. Since I own some products by Medora I though why not do some posts on it as well. Medora is a locally manufactured Pakistani brand which is widely known for its nail colors. I remember when I was a kid Medora was quite popular since access to international brands was not this convenient and there was no internet to google even. Medora has a wide range of lipstick colors too and are very affordable and economical.

I do not exactly recall form where I purchased this nail color however I remember when I saw this shade I instantly felt like buying it. Its a light sheer silver color but the good part is it gives a hint of blue and green depending where the light hits the nails. It is not a holographic color but still it gives out dual shades, sometimes of blue and sometimes of green with silver base.

This is the result I achieved after two coats of application. Like I mentioned above its a little sheer but the result will be better after the application of three coats. The applicator handle is of appropriate length which provides good handling of the brush and makes application easier. The brush is also moderately sized and provides good coverage over the nails. It dries out within 5 to 7 minutes which is OK with me.

Overall I like this shade and if you like it you must also give it a try. Since Medora does not name their shades and mention only numbers then so this one is 349. It cost me Rs. 95 which is the fixed price charged all over Pakistan. I would rate this product 4.7/5 and would totaly recommend you to buy it. Hope you liked my post. Post in your comments and let me know. I love to read your comments. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Essence nail color in where is the party?

Hi Beauties!

I am back with another nail color review. Sorry for the crappy quality of the pictures. I took them in a real rush right before leaving for work in the morning so they are not that clear as I expected them to be. But I guess they would serve the purpose. This is my first holographic nail color and I got my hands on this one by chance. By the cap of the bottle its looks like a plain old purple color but it is not! Read further to find out....

The shade number is 43, where is the party? and has a double color effect of purple and green depending where the light hits the nail color. The base color is purple with a duochrome green shade. It is not exactly a holographic nail color but it sure gives the effect of one. Its from Essence color & go nail range available in 5ml bottle.

The applicator brush is fine bristled and provides a good coverage on my nails. It is neither too slim and nor to thick, simply the appropriate size for my nails. The applicator handle sure is tiny which may trouble some people while applying but I personally am ok with the handle as well. I applied two coats to achieve this opaque effect and it dries out fast after application too. I would not say its a 60 second dry nail color but still its better than many others. The wear time of the nail color is excellent for 2 days but after that you will notice the tips chip off. Its one of those colors that give you a goth effect and can be worn at halloween or with dark clothes.

This is a close up of the final effect on the nails. I am really lovin it as its a nice duo color nail polish and that too on a very reasonable and affordable price. It costs Rs. 200 and is available at Al Fatah and Enem stores Lahore. You can check Essence products there. I just wish somehow we get the complete Essence range available in Pakistan with all the latest trend ranges *sigh*

Hope you liked my review of nail color. Post in your comments and let me know. I love to read your views.... Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Essence Multi dimension Nail color in Replay

Hi Beauties!

Hope you all are doing good and intensifying your beauty :) I have another nail post today and that too by recent favorite brand 'Essence'. I went to Al Fatah to get myself something random to treat my retail therapy and I chose a bright blue shade but when I got home this is the shade that came out of my shopping bag. Initially I was a little disappointed but when I applied it on my nails I kinda liked it. Its a nice greeny summery shade.

Its not the standard 5ml bottle I have done reviews about before, its Essence mutli dimension nail color range with XXX shine. This is available in 8ml bottle and costs Rs. 280. The name of the color is "Replay" and number is 73 though I had wanted to buy shade 70 :/

Its a lovely milky green shade and makes the hands look fresh and vibrant. Spring season is just around the corner and this nail paint is just the color to start up the spring season. This nail color has a good shine like Luscious nail Lacquers (I think they have a good shine too and essence is just like that). However the applicator brush is a little thin which gives less coverage on the nails. When I applied the first cote I was a little disappointed as I found it thick but sheer. But after the second cote I was satisfied with the color pay off. The color you are seeing on my nails is a result of 2 cotes.

I would give this nail color a 4/5 and will buy more colors for sure. If you still have not given Essence a try then you are missing quite alot of good stuff. Hope you like my nail color. I am wearing it on work today and have received praises... when are you going to buy yours? Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Essence nail color in Time for Romance

Hi Beauties!

Here is another post on Essence nail color. This one is glittery with silver glitter particles. The bottle size is as usual 5ml with a moderate sized brush applicator that gives a good coverage over the nails. Due to the small size of the applicator handle it might cause some problem in handling but its not a major issue.

The color number is 72, Time for romance and is a dark maroon shade with a sheery liquid and fine glitter particles and some chunky round glitter. I saw this nail color in Sarah Glossicious haul post and thought to buy the glittery ones. I myself am not a big fan of glitter nail colors as they are such a nuisance to remove but then I thought why not give them a try!

This is how the nail color looks after 3 applications. I have not applied any base coat or a top coat. Its just plain 3 coats of Essence nail color. As you can see the liquid color is quite sheer, it does not provide an opaque coverage over the nails. It can be used over some opaque color to give a nice glittery effect to the nails. The brush catches a good amount of glitter and the application is easy. What I do while applying glittery nail colors is that I dip the brush in th bottle to pick up some glitter and instead of swiping it over my nails I dab the brush over the nails. This way you get maximum glitter over the nails otherwise the glitter gets swiped away with the brush and very little remains on the nails.

Overall its a good glittery nail color. I would rate it 3.5/5. If you are into glittery nail colors then you must give it a try. I got this for Rs. 200 from Enem Liberty markets. Essence is also available at Al Fatah Liberty Markets Lahore. Hope you liked my review. Share your comments with me. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Essence nail color in Trendsetter

Hi Beauties!

Here is another nail color by Essence. I am in love with Essence nail colors. They have some shades that are sometimes not available in other brands here in Pakistan. This time its a lovely winter color more like gray brown shade.

The shade number is 71 and color name is Trendsetter. These are 5ml sized bottles. The applicator handle is small and might be difficult to handle for some people.. However the applicator brush is great. Its of medium width and provides a good coverage over the nails.

The color formula is dense and doesnot require more than two coats to give an opaque look. This is the result I have achieved after applying two coats. Its a very nice gray brown sort of shade and looks lovely on nails. Those with fair to normal color skin, it will make the hands look more fair and neat complimenting the hand complexion.

I got this from Enem for Rs. 200. For a 5ml bottle I find it a little pricey. Other than the price factor I do not find any other noticeable flaw. Essence nail colors are great. I totally recommend you to give them a try. I shall rate this product 4.7/5. Hope you liked my review. Comment below and let me know. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Flormar Nail Color in 125

Hi Beauties!

I wanted to do this post some time back but lost my pictures as my memory card was not working. It has been recovered now so I thought why not do this post now..... I love nail colors. I have loads of them as I showed you in my post of how I store my nail colors. This post is going to be on Flormar's nail color which is another bright pink shade.

I purchased this from RIOS at  Hyperstar Lahore. They have a complete range of Flormar products there. I can't seem to recall the exact price but it is between the range of Rs. 100 to Rs. 200. The color number is 125. They do not name their colors.

The nail color has a moderate applicator brush. It could have been a little better but still serves the purpose. The handle has a good grip for easy application.

I really like this pink shade and have used it quite a lot of times. It looks really good over the nails. The results you are seeing in the pictures are after 3 or 4 days of application and you can see the tips are lightly chipped. I have applied two coats here. The color isnt sheer or runny. With a three coat build up it wil be perfect.

Overall I would rate this nail color a 4/5. Flormar is available at all leading stores and is quite easily accessible. Flormar is an international brand and is quite reasonable with good quality products. Their foundations and sticks are really good. Do check out Flormar products and give them a try. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Essence Nail color in Skyscrapper

Hi Beauties!

I showed you some Essence products in my previous haul posts. At first I only found Essence at Al Fatah Lahore but recently The Enem Store went through some major up gradation and renovations and they have brought in a lot of new stuff. This new stuff also includes the complete range of Essence. So I got myself a few Essence products (haul post is in the pipeline). Today I'll be sharing my nail color experience with you from their Urban Messages collection.

The Urban Messages collection by Essence has nail colors, lipstick in red and peachy orange, eye shadow chalks and a few other things. I got myself nail color in number 02, color, Skyscrapper.

Its a 10ml/0.33 fl.oz bottle with a medium sized applicator which gives a fine and smooth application over the nails. The applicator handle provides a good grip as it is perfectly sized. Skyscrapper is a lovely creamy grey mushroom shade with very fine glitter in blue. The glitter particles are really fine and small barely noticeable but provide a really good effect over the nails.

This is the effect I achieved after three coats. Personally I think the color should have built up and the nails should not have been visible after three applications but still you can see the nails. The formula for this nail color is a little sheer and will remain like this even after three coats.

The nail color has a thin formula and is a little runny so you need to be a little careful while applying, not to pick up a huge amount on the brush. Anyhow I really like the color. Its super great.

I got this nail color for Rs. 280. I plan on buying more Essence products and will soon be sharing them with you. I simply love Essence. I would recommend you to check out Enem, their new stock is really amazing. They have got Marks & Spencer winter clothes like sweaters, coats, mufflers, caps, gloves, lingerie, thermals and what not. Hope you liked my nail color. Do comment and let me know. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Medora nail Color in Pink

Hi Beauties!

My previous post was on Medora nail color and this one is also about Medora nail color. Here is another small Medora I had purchased with the previous one. This one is a bright pink shade.

Medora nail colors are distinguished on the basis of their color numbers which are usually taped on the cap of their bottle. The shade number for this one has worn off and I can only make out the last digit which is 8 and I have no idea what the first two digits are.

This too is an 11 ml bottle cost me Rs. 35 some 3 to 4 years back. This one has become a little thick and gooey with the passage of time and I have tried to fix it with pouring in a few drops of nail polish remover. It works but does not give a perfect smooth application. I get strokes while applying it on the nails. But what the heck it serves my purpose and I am happy ;)  So here is the result after applying two coats.

I really like this pink shade, it gives such a funky look and is so vibrant. The hands look so alive and fresh.

Overall I love Medora nail colors and whenever i find a different shade I always end up buying it. If you have not tried medora nail colors yet do give them a try. They have a vast color variety and are really good.

Hope you liked my nail color. Post in your comments and let me know. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!
