Bracelet from SK9

Hi Beauties!

Today I am sharing another online shopping experience with you girls. I am fully aware of the risks involved in online shopping as I have been through one terrible experience. However I must say there are some online shooping pages on Facebook that totally live upto their claims by providing excellent services, good quality products that too at very affordable prices. SK9 is one such Facebook page where you can buy beautiful and elegant jewellery. Below is an item I ordered from SK9.

By now you know that I am a sucker for charmed jewellery. So when I visited SK9 the first thing that attracted me was this charmed bracelet. I instantly got it reserved for myself and thanked God that it had not already been taken. The above image has been taken from SK9's page and the image below is taken from my camera. You can see the bracelet is exactly alike.

The chain is in antique gold. Its a 3 chain set bracelet. 2 are thick chains while the third one is thinly binded chain. I really really like this bracelet. It also makes sound when you move your arm/hand which I am not much fond of. I chose a matching necklace at accessorize to buy but unfortunately it got sold before I could even buy it. Its a strong and durable bracelet and if properly used can last quite long.

This bracelet cost me Rs. 995 and I only had to pay Rs. 60 as delivery charges. However it was delivered to me in 15 days time. I have ordered 3 more jewellery items from SK9 and will be ordereing more from them in future as well.

Hope you liked my review of the bracelet. Drop in your comments and let me know. You can check out SK9's Facebook page by click on this link. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Dear Friends, I am feeling very frustrated and disappointed as I write this post, for it may be the last one on Our Scented Cottage blog. It appears as though google has changed blogger and it has been very difficult accessing my blog this morning. Nothing on my dashboard is as it should be, and I'm not even certain how this will appear after I push the publish button. Hopefully it will post so if I cannot access it again, you will know what has happened. I will miss my time with you and viewing where all of my readers are logging in for the day. I am not as versed with the computer as some, and in fact, pen and paper suit me much better if truth be told. I will make attempts at figuring out what is happening here but if I can't, I have very much enjoyed the past years with you all. Is anyone else having this issue with blogger? Have you somehow been able to repair it or do you have any tips for me? Sending you all blessings for the best life has to offer you. Laura

Diana of London Pure addiction lipstick

Hi Beauties!

There are some brands who have excellent quality products, excellent variety but some how do not manage to be on the top list or are not that renowned. Diana of London I would say is one such brand in Pakistan. I usually hear girls talking about Loreal, Rimmel and Luscious in Pakistan but rarely about Diana of London. I would say the brand is highly under estimated. Although I see their counters in almost all good stores but yet it is a brand not much hyped about. I do not know how or why but my first product from this brand was their eye liner pencil. After that I got two lipsticks from this brand and later I also recommended my collegue to give this brand a try and she got herself a mascara, compact powder and a foundation and is totally satisfied.

Today I am reviewing Diana of London's pure addiction lipstick. I saw its review for the first time on Sara Hassan's blog. You can check out her review here as well. I was already using the eye liner pencil which by the way is really good. Sara's review actually firmed my decision to give the lipstick a try. I went to Raja Sahib Link Road Model Town (they have a display counter there) and tested a few lipstick shades on my hand. I loved the result on my hand and bought myself a lovely shade of pink.

The lipsticks come in a cardboard box that is grey and maroon purple grape color. I personally like the shape and body of the lipstick. The rotatable part of the lipstick is silver and so is the rest of the body. Only the lid is grape colored with pure addiction lipstick written on it.

I got myself a light shade of pink which is Pink Blush and is number 09. It is an amazing pink shade with a very little hint of beige undertone.

I took this picture from a distance so this is how the lipstick looks like from a distance but the next picture shows off a completely different shade.

This is a close up of the shade. Here it looks like a pink purple shade probably due to excess light in the surroundings. The picture above is the actual shade of the lipstick.

This is how the color looks like on my lips. I would say it is a nude pink shade and can be worn with almost any color of clothes if you are a nude lover which I definitely am. This color however might not suit you if you have a darker skin tone or darker shade of lips. The true color of the lipstick will not pop out then.

Diana of London pure addiction lipsticks claim to have:
  • Ultra soft texture providing a feeling of lightness and absolute comfort
  • Luminous and excellent color payoff
  • Velvety finish with Vitamin E & anti-ageing properties
I would say that Diana of London absolutely stands on what it claims about their pure addiction lipsticks. I found these lipsticks to be really creamy, smooth and moisturizing. I do not need to apply a lip gloss for a glossy effect over this lipstick, it itself is creamy enough to do the job. It smells really nice on the lips. Everytime I put it on my lips a vision of eating it passes through my mind :0 I really like the pigmentation and color payoff of the lipstick. Coming to the important part that is the staying power of the lipstick, so let me elaborate that in detail. My work hours are from 9 to 5.30 and I apply this listick at around 8.45 in the morning. After that I drink water or juice or may eat something too. Then at 1.30 after my lunch I refresh my lipstick. Right before refreshing I have observed that almost 40% of the color is observable over the lips. Once refreshed it stays put on my lips and the same drinking routine continues. When I get back home I can clearly observe at least 40% of the color remaining on my lips. With all this observation I would pass the verdict that it has a good staying power.

You can check out their website by clicking on the link here and also their Facebook page here.

All in all I simply love this lipstick and will definitely buy this color again and again. I would rate this product a 4.7/5 and would recommend you girls to give it out a try. It is reasonable priced at Rs. 595 and is available at all leading stores like Al Fatah, Enem, Hyperstar, Raja Sahib, Victoria in Lahore. I know this post got real long but I wanted to give out a very detailed review on the lipstick to express my love for it. Hope you liked it. Drop in your comments and let me know. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

The Body Shop Born lippy Lip Balm

Hi Beauties!

Another thing about winter season is it brings along dry and chapped lips. No matter how much water you drink or lick your lips they get dry after a while. So what to do when this happens? We all go for lip moisturizing products that keep our lips hydrated. I also have used several lip products before as I tend to have dry skin and my lips get really dry in winters. But none of them worked as great as this one.

Yes, it is born lippy lip balm by The Body Shop. I already have other lip balms that I keep on using from time to time but once I went to Pot Pourri and saw this baby there and thought of giving it a try. I had asked its price from different shops, some quoted it for Rs. 800 and some Rs. 700. To be honest spending Rs. 700 for this small lip balm pot did not appeal me. At Pot Pourri I was told this pot worth Rs. 450. I instantly bought it. Here I would like to make one thing clear, this is 100% original body shop lip balm not fake or any A grade copy. The packing, the product, the fragrance I checked everything and it is 100% genuine. This is being sold at the same price on another cosmetic shop I often visit which is Channel in Liberty Markets. So I am sure it is real. The reason for it being this cheap is, unlike the original body shop, these small cosmetic shops do not have to bear the marketing expenses, sale girls' salaries and direct import costs. Plus the brands place their counters on different stores which means additional expenses so no doubt they have higher prices.

It comes in a small transparent sort of plastic pot which makes it travel friendly. You can pop it into your purse and use it whenever you want. Born lippy lip balms are available in different fragrances. Mine is in passionberry which smells almost like rasberry lip balmsand is a beautiful mauve color. It has 10ml of product and weighs approximately 9 grams.

I have swatched it on my finger. Since it is not clearly visible so I have encircled the area in red where I have it swatched. It is pretty much colorless when applied on lips and gives a wonderful fragrance. I feel like eating it when I apply it on my lips.

Coming to my experience of this product I would say it is amazing. I have been using it for two months now and it works amazingly on my lips. Due to its small size its always in my purse which means that whenever I feel my lips are dry I apply it. It is greasy like a wax and is a little thick in consistency which makes it easy to apply over the lips. I have noticed it stays good on the lips for like two to three hours depending upon your eating, drinking and licking the lips. For me, it hydrates my lips, smoothes them and they do not feel dry or chapped after its application. The fragrance is just great. It smells like raspberries and when applied can be felt by people in close vicinity but is not that long lasting.

I would rate this product 4/5 and would buy it again too. For winters I would say it is a must have product in your hand bag. Hope you liked my review. Drop in your comments to let me know. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

I Love Mango & Papaya Body Butter

Hi Beauties!

Here is another something that I ordered online. I badly wanted to have the I love range of body butters but unfortunately they were out of stock at Just4girls.pk. Then I came across a Facebook page that had these body butters. Strawberries & milkshake body butter was on priority on my wish list but that was no where available :( so I just ordered Mango & papaya one.

Its a 200ml transparent plastic jar with a black plastic lid. The sticker on the lid is of orange color. The back has details of the product with directions and caution while using.

Here is a side view of the jar to give you an idea about the size and quantity of the product.

This is how the body butter looks like. Its very light orange in color more like a peach color and smells so so good. It has a strong aroma of mango and the fragrance is really refreshing.

I have put some body butter on my finget to give you an idea about the consistency of the product. Just like body butters should be, it has a thick consistency but as compared to my Ashworth & Calire's body butter I found it a little less dense. You can see the review of Ashworth & Claire's body butter here.

I ordered this body butter from Dhanak, a Facebook page. She has quite some range of products from NYX, Avon, Body shop, Aussie and fugde and alot more. The prices are extremely reasonable. I got this body butter for just Rs. 450 while at Just4girls.pk its for Rs. 690. Quite some difference, eh! The day I made the paymeny she dispatched it the same day in the evening and it was at my door step the very next day. So from ordering to communication to delivery I am totally satisfied by Dhanak's services and might order some more products in the future.

I have not used it a lot since I am using another body butter at the moment but I used it a few times in between and I found it really good. It smells like mangoes and the fragrance is quite strong and lasts whole day on your body. It is really refreshing to your senses in gloomy winters. The body butter is a little less dense which means it absorbs quickly and also requires to be used a little more. Since I have a very dry skin I use it liberally on my body and it lasts for good 8 to 10 hours. Overall its a good body butter, nothing outstanding or extra ordinary. I would definitely get myself in strayberry & milkshake too. I am rating it 3.7/5. If you are into body butters do give it a try. Hope you liked my review. Share in your comments with me. I love hearing from you. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Necklace from Accessorize

Hi Beauties!

Here is my new buy from Accessorize. It had been quite sometime that I had not gone there and mostly been visiting Haroon's. But since the seasonal sales have started I had to visit Xinhua Mall yesterday and also went to Accessorize to check if anything new had come up. There I saw this beautiful necklace and bought it immediately.

I am a fan of charmed jewellery. I just love those little things dangling from bracelets and necklaces. So I got myself this beautiful charmed necklace.

Here is a close up of the charms. You can see a watch, keys, some beads and multi colored balls. The chain is quite thick and a blue purple colored ribbon passes through the chain. The necklace is a little heavy due to the thick size of the chain plus the added charms but overall it balances out the weight and stays firmly on the neck but you will definitely feel the weight that there is something on your neck which is very very pretty :)

I am so in love with this nech chain. I simply love Accessorize. This neck chain is priced at Rs. 2350 which is a little expensive but all Accessorize items are high priced. Accessorize outlets are in Xinhua Mall and Mall of Lahore in Lahore city. You can also order online through their Facebook fan page here. Hope you liked my neck chain. Share your views with me. I love to read your views. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Essence nail color in Time for Romance

Hi Beauties!

Here is another post on Essence nail color. This one is glittery with silver glitter particles. The bottle size is as usual 5ml with a moderate sized brush applicator that gives a good coverage over the nails. Due to the small size of the applicator handle it might cause some problem in handling but its not a major issue.

The color number is 72, Time for romance and is a dark maroon shade with a sheery liquid and fine glitter particles and some chunky round glitter. I saw this nail color in Sarah Glossicious haul post and thought to buy the glittery ones. I myself am not a big fan of glitter nail colors as they are such a nuisance to remove but then I thought why not give them a try!

This is how the nail color looks after 3 applications. I have not applied any base coat or a top coat. Its just plain 3 coats of Essence nail color. As you can see the liquid color is quite sheer, it does not provide an opaque coverage over the nails. It can be used over some opaque color to give a nice glittery effect to the nails. The brush catches a good amount of glitter and the application is easy. What I do while applying glittery nail colors is that I dip the brush in th bottle to pick up some glitter and instead of swiping it over my nails I dab the brush over the nails. This way you get maximum glitter over the nails otherwise the glitter gets swiped away with the brush and very little remains on the nails.

Overall its a good glittery nail color. I would rate it 3.5/5. If you are into glittery nail colors then you must give it a try. I got this for Rs. 200 from Enem Liberty markets. Essence is also available at Al Fatah Liberty Markets Lahore. Hope you liked my review. Share your comments with me. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

I Love Luscious Lips

Hi Beauties!

How much joy is felt when we recieve that red or yellow box at our door step? How the heart flutters to open up that courier box..... I felt the same joy and heart fluttering when I got another yellow box from Just4girls.pk. Here is what was in the box

YES! I love Luscious Lips balms. I so wanted to have them since the moment I saw them on Just4girls.pk's website but unfortunately I was broke at that time and later they got out of stock. But few days back they came back in stock and I instantly placed and order for them. They arrived within 3 or 4 days at my door step.

These lip alms are also available separately but since they were out of stock and I did not want to miss them out this time so I ordered the whole set. The set includes lip balms in:

1. Mango and Papaya
2. Strawberries and Milkshake
3. Raspberry and blackberry

The outer cover slides away and the lip balms are placed in a cardboard tray. They are glued at the bottom and come out with a little pressure.

The little jars look so colorful and appealing and also smell wonderful.

I have started using the strawberry and milkshake one. Lets see how it turns out. Before this I was using The body shop's born lippy in raspberry. So I am comparing the results of this to born lippy one. Review will follow shortly.

This set is priced at Rs. 990 on Just4girls.pk's website. I paid Rs. 250 delivery charges for Lahore so in total they cost me Rs. 1240. You can check out their website by clicking on this link here. Hope you liked my new buy. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Makeup cases set

Hi Beauties!
Has it ever happened to you that you are walking in a market thinking that you have purchased everything that was on your wish list and so done with the shopping and all of a sudden your gaze falls upon something you wish to buy immediately? I guess as a girl this must have happened to you at least once in your life time if not often. This recently happened to me too, although it happens a lot :p So here is what happened. I was on my way to the parking lot after getting myself a few things from Enem and there came a guy carrying a really huge plastic bag and holding makeup cases in his hand. The makeup cases looked appealing at first sight to me so I asked him the price. Upon knowing the price I knew I had to buy these babies they were an extremely reasonable buy and practical too. Let me show you what I got myself.

These are the makeup cases I got myself. They are a set of 3 cases. At the moment they look pretty unappealing huh? But keep on reading the post im sure your eye brows will rise by the end of the post after you will come to know the price and quality of these.

The cases the guy was holding as a samples were stuffed with stuffing material and were wrapped together by a pink organza fabric ribbon like the one you see above in the picture. These ones are without any stuffing hence looks ineffectual.

This is the first one of the set and is a travel makeup case. The exterior has polka dots all over and is plastic coated so it can be cleaned with a wet cloth and won't get dirty soon. The case has a pink zipper at the top and a handle to hold the case.

The interior of the case is made of pink nylon fabric. It can also be cleaned with a damp cloth in case you get a stain or something. The case is quite spacy and can store quite some stuff needed while travelling or just for storing your makeup items.

This is the second case of the set. Its just like a pouch and has a cris cross design on the exterior and is plastic coated just like the other one.

This is the inner view of the pouch case. It has a bright pink nylon interior just like the travel case.

Third one is a pencil makeup case and it too has polka dots like the travel case. You can keep your eye pencils, lip pencils, travel size brushes or any such makeup products in this case.

This is the inner view of the case.

You can use these cases individually or collectively, its entirely upto you. While travelling if you want to keep your makeup organized and at one place these cases may serve the purpose well.

This is the final look of the case with the rest of the two cases inside it. The other fit fit perfectly in the bigger travel case. I got all these cases for Rs. 300. Unbelievable isn't it! The guy quoted me Rs. 350 but I bargained to pay Rs. 300. Although I am sure if I had bargained more I could have gotten them on a few less Rupees as well. But anyhow I am happy with the price I got these. Imagine, Rs. 100 for each case!

Coming to the quality of the cases I would say the pictures speak for themselves. They are of excellent quality and brand new. They are by some brand named Modella and are made in China. The only fault I found in these cases is the exterior of the cases has a few color and design smudges. Probably one of the reasons of them being reasonably priced as they maybe defected pieces and hence rejected from batch produce. However I would rate these cases 4.5/5 and totally loving them for the quality, price and practibility. So from my experience I would suggest to keep your eyes open whenever shopping and keep on scanning around with those X ray visions. You might get a lucky bargain :) Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!
