Splurging from Splurge

Hi Beauties!

May is about to end and I am trying my best to fit in any haul posts that I can. I still have so many left but its okay I can always share them with you later :) I tried out shopping online from another Face book page this time, that is from Splurge and I would say my shopping experience went fine with Splurge as well.

Splurge is an online Face book page that sells jewellery, bags, cosmetics, shoes, shades, clothes and what not. They have a huge variety available on their page. Just browse through and check it out yourself. Some time back they had an offer going on their page for Wet n Wild trio palettes which was buy 3 for Rs. 2400. I ordered myself 2 sets of the deal that is 6 palettes in total. Here are the ones I ordered.

1. On cloud nine
2. I dream greenie
3. I got good jeans
4. I'm feeling retro
5. Spoiled brat
6. Cool as a cucumber

When the order arrived I was informed that two of the platettes, I dream of greenia and Cool as a cucumber have one shadow broken. Its not anyone's fault that the palettes were broken during shipping. I guess either the Company did not pack them well or they were mis handled while shipping. But anyways, I was given the option to buy them on a discounted rate or get a refund. I chose to get a refund. So lets see which palettes survived...

Here is I'm feeling retro

I got good jeans

On cloud nine

And last but not the least, Spoiled brat. Upon delivery, this palette also had a broken shadow.

Here is the back view of the palette.

So out of 6 palettes 3 palettes have reached me safely and unbroken. I am thankful to Splurge for getting me Wet n Wild palettes as we do not have them easily available in Pakistan. However I must express here that even after so many days of delivery I have not been refunded yet. I received my order on May 18th and its may 31st today and still no refund, no contact as to how much will the refund be, when to expect or any reason of delay. When customers are strictly told to make the payment very next day of placing an order then isn't it an ethical and moral obligation on the opposing party to do the same too? I'd say I am disaapointed by Splurge's customer services. Lets see when I would get my refund and even if I would get one after this post. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Hope you liked mu haul. Drop in your comments and let me know. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Another haul from JMC Nail Art

Hi Beauties!

Like I said May is officially my hauling month. I have got some more haul posts for you. Few days back I got my fourth order from JMC Nail Art. Here are the things I ordered this time.

1. Nail art stamping plate
2. Kitty earings
3. Oriflame very me no time for shine powder
4. Two fimo canes

I ordered this plate because of the skull design it had. I really liked it as it was different from all the florals normally etched on the plates. Plus its the perfect design for Halloween nail art too. The plate cost me Rs. 300.

Next, the kitty earings. I wanted to get them for quite sometime but I always ended up asking for them late. They were always out of stock. No wonder, they are so cute and adorable. I already have the kitty necklace which I ordered sometime back from JMC. Here is the link to that post. The earings are of excellent quality with smooth and fine finishing. The earings cost Rs. 500.

I ordered the Oriflame Very me no time for shine pressed powder but the ones oriflame sent to Pakistan are in this packing belonging to a different product range. Its from their Visions range. The pressed powder looks peachy. i have not tried it yet, lets see how it turns out. This pressed powder is available for Rs. 349 at JMC. However I got it for Rs. 300 only.

I originally ordered two fimos. Snce there was a buy one get one free offer going on at JMC I got two fimos free with the ones I ordered. Each fimo is for Rs. 100.

Last but not the least I got free goodies from JMC :D These are the two rings I got.

These are antique gold colored rings and are adorable. I wore them to work on Friday and got compliments from all my female collegues on the style and design. The winged one is different and a real eye catcher while the rose one is simply too cute to miss. Both the rings are adjustable and fit me perfectly. See, this is why I order from JMC, I get free goodies everytime ;) (I am just kidding) :p There is another reason too, I got a 10% discount as well on my overall order :) (I am again kidding) :p These are not the only reasons, the reason I place order with her over and over is because of her professional attitude and good quality stuff. If you do not believe me try it yourself. You can visit her Face book page bo clicking on the following link. You will have the most wonderful shopping experience. This whole order along with delivery charges cost me Rs. 1345. Reasonable, eh? Hope you guys liked my haul. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Palladio Blotting Rice papers in Translucent

Hi Beauties!

Summer is fully abloom and so is the oil that oozes out on our faces. For all those having oily skins they become oil tankers oozing with oil (no offense) and those who do not have oily skins yet they perspire and look tan. How many of you use wipes and tissues to wipe off the oil and sweat on face? I am sure this must be a majority. I have also belonged to this majority. But not anymore! I have found a great temporary solution to wipe away the oil and sweat on face and look fresh even in this harsh hot weather. How? Read further to find out...

I first came to know of these blotting papers through Sarah Glossicious's blog. I really liked the purpose of these blotting papers and since these were the only ones I knew and found I purchased these to give them a try. And now, I really do not regret buying them.

Palladio blotting papers come in a small handy thin cardboard box which is quite small, the size of a small business card but a little thick. These blotthing papers are available in three different shades just like compact powders. I got myself the translucent ones. There are 40 full sized sheets in the pack. Use a sheet and discard it after use.

This is how the box opens up and a single sheet rests there for easy popping when required.

This is the front side which is coated with rice powder. Rice powder has absorbing properties which is what makes the paper absorb all the oil on face. Plus the powder functions like a compact powder over the face making the face appear fresh again, totally oil free.

This is the back side of the paper and is plain. Both sides could be used for wiping the face. Its a matter of your own choice.

Here is the ugly part. I wiped my face with the paper and here is the oil it absorved from my face. Can you imagine having this much oil on face? I had no idea that the shine I see on my face can actually sum up to this much :o This picture proves how good these sheets are. They absorb oil and shine on face giving you a matte finish without making the face look too dry or cakey. Its upto you which side you feel more comfortable with. I personally prefer using the rice paper side as it absorbs oil and powders the face giving it a matte finish. Another good thing about these papers are, they are thick enough and do not tear apart while wiping.

I read on several blogs girls complaining about powder dropping off on clothes and everywhere. Personally I have not experienced any such thing. Maybe its because I am using Translucent papers and this could be an issue with Natural or Warm beige ones. I don't know for sure though. But what I am sure of is that I have not experienced any powder falling here and there from the paper. I carry these in my hand bag at all times and whenever I feel like touching up my face I use these. Moreover these sheets absorb sweat too so if I am perspiring I use them to wipe my face and Voila! unveils a matte smooth powdered face. The powder amount is very nominal and hardly one feels anything applied over the face.

All in all these sheets are simply awesome. I would rate them 5/5 and would highly recommend giving them a try. I purchased the pack for Rs. 295 from Pot Pourri D.H.A. Y Block. Palladio is available in all leading stores in Lahore and you would not having problem seeking it out. Hope you liked my review. Drop in your comments and tell me if you have used Palladio rice paper sheets. How was your experience?

[Guest Post]: How to find Good Fitting Shoes

Hi Beauites!

We have got another very helpful Guest Post here. Ashley gives us seven highly useful tips to find the best fitting shoes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taking Your Shoes in Stride

Walking around in uncomfortable shoes is no picnic. Shoes that simply look good but don't offer proper foot support will eventually cause foot problems, such as heel pain, bunions, deformed toes, nerve damage, swollen ankles, knee pain, and even spine and posture issues. The ideal shoe should compliment the structure of your feet to absorb the shock of walking on various surfaces, whether you are casually walking or doing a strenuous exercise routine. The following tips will help you find the right fitting shoes from flats to heels.

Seven Tips to Find the Right Fitting Shoes

1. Support over Fashion

Focus on proper foot support over fashion. Look for trendy casual and athletic footwear that are specifically designed for arch support and shock absorption for casual walking and for fitness from local stores or online websites.

2. Look around before buying

Take your time shopping for shoes. In other words, don't grab and purchase the first pair of shoes you like just because they're in your size, and their fashionable. Try on several pairs of shoes first and walk around in them for awhile before making a final decision on the pair you want. A shoe salesman can help fit you with an accurate sized shoe, making sure that their is the right amount of toe room for you to feel comfortable and that hugs your heel in such a way that they will not slip up and down when you begin to walk.

3. Make sure your shoes fit

Do not buy tight shoes, assuming that they'll stretch to fit later. If the shoes you try on in the store are too tight on the sides, hurt, or makes your toes feel crammed at the top of the shoes, don't buy them.

4. Find flexible shoes

Find shoes that are flexible. Shoes are really an extension of your foot and should compliment the motion of your foot as you walk. If you can't bend your shoes from the toe or from the heel end with your hand, you should look for another pair. Shoes also need proper cushioning, as this will serve you well especially when walking on uneven or hard surfaces.

5. Afternoon shopping

Because feet have a natural tendency to swell, buy your shoes late in the afternoon. You'll have a better chance of getting a more accurate fit than trying shoes on early in the morning. Try shoes on your dominant foot. The dominant foot is normally larger than the other.

Wearing Shoes With Extra Height- 2 tips just for the ladies!

Wearing heels causes the foot to assume an unnatural position both with standing and with walking. Therefore, women who prefer to wear wedges or heels should take the following things into consideration:

1) Women wearing high-heeled shoes of any height should not wear them for more than three hours a day, although wearing a low-heeled shoe is always a better choice if you just must wear heels instead of stilettos. Because stilettos have an extreme high, narrow heel, it does not offer any support to the middle part of the foot. Wearing heels frequently, especially of this height, will eventually shorten the tendon of the Achilles, which will cause heel pain.

2) Wedges have a major advantage over the average high heel shoe because the heel runs the entire length of the sole of the shoe. This provides the right amount of support for the entire part of the foot and cushions the arch in a more natural position.
The key to choosing any type of footwear is to try your shoes on and allow for swelling or irregularities with shoe size, and comfort level to come into play when buying your next pair!

[Guest Post]: 6 Tips on finding the best-priced Purse

Hi Beauties!

We have another guest post here by Daniella Weston who shares her 6 best tips on finding a purse with the best price.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With summer on the horizon, it’s a great time to get a new purse. However, purses, like everything else, can be really expensive. Instead of sacrificing quality for price, here are some ways to get the bag you want at a price that you can really appreciate.

1.Promotional codes

There are several tips that a person can use to find the best priced purse. The first tip is to look for discount codes when you are shopping for the purse online. This is one of the best ways that a person can assure that they are not going to have to pay the full price on the purse. All a person has to do is put the promotional code into the blank white box. Most of the time, a person is going to be able to find a promotional code that is going to save them from 10 to 40 percent on the purse.

2. Outlet Shops

The second tip is to take a trip out to the outlet shops. A person is going to be able to find a lot of great deal at the outlet because this is where the big brand purse shops send the purses that they cannot sell. One of the most popular purse outlets is Coach. The reason this one is so popular is because the shop will ship the purses as little as three months after they have been in the store. A person is going to be able to save about 15 to 75 percent on the purses at the outlet.

3. Sample Sales

The third tip is to find out where there are sample sales on the purse stores that you like. Most of the time, a store is going to have a sample sale on their purses about twice a year. During these sample sales, there are going to be tables and tables of purses that are going to be marked down to at 20 percent. These purses are on sale because the store ordered too many of them or the purses might have a little defect on them. A defect could be something as small as some scratches. The more defects that the purse has, the bigger discount a person is going to get.

4. Designer Discount stores

The fourth tip is to go to a designer discount store. These designer discount stores include stores like T.J. Maxx and Marshall's. These stores are going to carry a lot of purses that have been overstocked or last season. Therefore, a person might not be able to get the exact color that they were looking for in the purse, but the savings is going to be well worth it. The best way to get the best purses that you want is to find out when the store gets all of its new shipments. You should also try to make sure that you shop at the store on that day, or soon after.

5. Shop on Ebay

The fifth tip is to look for used name brand purses on Ebay. The best way to do this is to type "authentic" in the search bar and the name brand that you are looking for. Then, a person is going to need to look for purses that are going to be sold during a weird time of night like two in the morning. A person is going to be able to find a way better deal on the purse that they are looking for because there is going to be less competition for that purse.

6. Join email lists

The sixth tip is to join the email lists of all of the online purse stores that you frequently like to shop at. This is so that you will know when the store is having any sales or promotions going on within the stores, or online. Plus, a person is probably going to get access to certain sales or promotional codes from the top designer purse brands that might only exist to the people who are apart of the email list.

Rivaaj and Bourjois haul

Hi Beauties!

I am back with another haul post. I mentioned in my last post that I had been looking for Bourjois cosmetics counter but so far they are only available at 3 locations in Lahore, at Hyperstar, Pot pourri and I recently found out they are now also available in Vogue Towers. So after my serach at various stores and malls I finally decided to go to Hyperstar to get my Bourjois items. Along with Bourjois I hauled some Rivaaj products too. So here is what I got.

Two different sized hair benders. The orange ones are thick while the red ones are small. I purchased two packs of each as one would not have sufficed my hair. Each pack cost me Rs. 185.

And lastly something I have been looking all over in Lahore, Bourjois lip palettes. These are available in 4 different shades. I got palette number 01 in Rouges Collection and palette number 02 Roses Muses. Each palette is for Rs. 1100 and I am simply loving them.

Reviews and swatches will follow later for these palettes. Hope you are liking all my haul posts. Drop in your comments as I love to read your feedback. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Hair straightener by Be

Hi Beauties!

I think I should officially declare the month of May as the hauling month since I have been hauling alot lately, almost everyday this month. The scorching heat of summer makes my head swing and hurt yet I am so upto shopping that I am not bothering the headaches. But I think I should be careful now as its not a joke to get dehydrated that too in this harsh summer season.

Anyways I went to Shoppe to see if they have Bourjois cosmetics counter but unfortunately they do not have it yet. So I was just pacing around looking at things on display and I saw this cute little hair strightening iron. I asked the sales woman to open it up and show it to me. I already have Remmington hair essentials complete set that has a straightener, two types of curling rods and a crimper along with hair clips. I did not want to buy it and told the sales woman to put it back. But then I could not bring myslef up to leaving it there. Its so small and adorable and pink that I did not have the heart to leave it so I bought it.

Be hair straightener is a product of Be Hair Botique which is in Uk in Surrey. Its a professional hair straightener which heatens up to 200 C, has ceramic plates and instantly heats up within 30 seconds. Moreover it works on multiple voltages.

The thing that attracted me to this straightener was its small size and its bright pink color. Its just so chic and girly. The small size makes it travel friendly which means you can easily pop it into your bag when travelling.

I have not used it so far this one is just a haul post. Will let you know the results after I use it a few times. This straightener cost me Rs. 3595. As compared to other straighteners it is a little costly but I think its ok as its really compact yet professional and high performance straightener plus its pink :D. Hope you liked my haul. Drop in your comments and let me know as I love reading your feedback. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!
