WTF: Oriflame Giordani Gold Anti perspirant 24hr roll-on deodorant

Hi Beauties!

Ummmm..... ok, so I do like and admire Oriflame products but sometimes when your expectations build up and a thing is unable to meet your expectations, the disappointment gets grave. I think this is what happened with me this time.

Remember my massive Oriflame haul from my previous haul post, I got this thingy in that haul. In case you do not remember here is the link to the post. I was quite tempted to use the roll-on as I was expecting it to be really good since the Giodani Gold range is sort of expensive. Read further to find out my experience.

Oriflame's Giordani Gold anti perspirant roll-on comes in a 50 ml sized plastic bottle. The container is brown gold colored just like the whole Giordani Gold range having golden touch in the packing. I actually like the GG monogram on the bottle. The deo is light weight and is pretty handy.

This is the roller ball on the head and I have some serious issues with this roller ball. I have used different brand roll-ons but never I came across such a lame badly engineered roller ball. See the fluid on the ball and all around the cap tightening screws? This is the roll-on liquid hanging here and there. That thing is either supposed to stay in the bottle or on my under arms, not hanging out on the cap or screws :/

See how it is oozing in the cap. The problem with this deo is that the roller ball is snuck inside the bottle more than necesarry. So what happens is when you roll it on your under arms the already applied fluid keeps on resurfacing back on the bottle and when you screw back the cap the fluid sticks to the cap as well. Moreover it oozes out of the cap, on the bottle too. Hence, not travel friendly at all.

Coming to the fragrance of the roll-on I am highly disappointed on this end too. Oriflame outlet has no tester for this product so I just assumed it would smell good but I did not like it at all. Now, fragrance choice is a very subjective thing. The sort of perfumes and scents I like, it is not necesarry that someone else will like them too. My point here is that wither Oriflame should introduce some samples because everyone has different smell choices. Its impossible to order and buy a fragrance without knowing what is coming your way. Just like I suffered for buying it assuming it to be good.

This product cost me Rs. 279 and I am dissatisfied with this thing. I would not buy it again ever and would also not recommend anyone buying it because of the technical flaw. This is all for the harsh review. I know its very blunt but I did not know how to tame it. Hence a WTF (What the Fudge) post. Drop in your comments and let me know what you think of my review. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Medora Nail Color in 479

Hi Beauties!

You know how much I love nail colors. Every time I see a unique shade I just cant resist buying it. I am so glad to see the color variety Medora has. I actually feel proud knowing that a local Pakistani brand which people usually do not bother with just because it is cheap has such lovely colors in its collection. The best part about Medora is that its really very bery cheap and affordable. In the remote areas of Pakistan it still is a very popular brand. I remember my mom using Medora lipsticks when the choices of make up were very limited like two decades ago.

So coming to the review part, as usual I went to Victoria Departmental Store on Link Road Model Town and saw this wonderful shade. I really liked the shade. Its an aqua green teal sort of shade and looks quite different. Its a great color to be worn in summers as it really brightens up the hands.

Medora nail colors come in different sizes. This is ml bottle made of glass. The handle has a good grip and helps in easy application of the color. The brush is long with a moderate spread and provides good coverage over the nails.

See my hand below, I have applied two coats of this shade and the coverage is pretty opaque. I have not applied any base coat or top. The shine you see is the original shine of the color. As for the lasting power of the nail color I would say it lasts good for two days and slightly starts to chip off after two days from the tips.

I am always satisfied by using Medora nail colors and absolutely love them. The best part comes with the price. These nail colors only cost Rs. 95. They are soooo affordable and of good quality. I would rate Medora nail colors 4/5. Hope you liked my nail color. Have you tried this color before? Do you like it? Drop in your comments to let me know. I love to read your comments. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

My massive oriflame haul for April

Hi Beauties!

Guess what? I got a little bonus this month along with my salary and I decided to spend the whole of it. You have already seen my Accessorize haul, here is the one for Oriflame. With this month's promotional items I decided to buy a few more other things too, so off I went to Oriflame's Lahore Office and got myself all these things :)

Firstly I got myself the Oriflame's Very me perach me perfect skin glow. Its a moisturizer with fine shimmer particles that are very finely grounded and they bring a shine on the face. Its available in two shades, one for the lighter skin tones and the other for darker skin tones. I got mine in light shade. It has a nice sheer coverage on the skin, gives out a peachy effect and the shimmer helps attain the shine and glow.

I so much wanted to buy this one when there were promotional sales going on this product but unfortunately whenever I used to go to buy it was always out of stock. Finally I got to lay my hands on this one this month. It cost me Rs. 383.

The grape anti oxidant peel off mask is on Oriflame bazaar these days which means it is running on discount. I already have the Acai and pomegrante anti oxidant set and I am quite pleased with that one hence I decided to try out anti oxidant peel off mask too. So far I have tried this once and I'll say that my conclusions are still undecided. I would try it twice more to give out my reviews. This, I got for Rs. 359. For a quantity of only 50 ml I would say its a little pricey.

The feet up range is usually on sale for quite sometime. Got myself a few things from this range. First is the Cooling foot gel. This one is for Rs. 279.

Pure skin face wash. A great product I must say and is available for Rs. 343. I think its very very reasonably priced.

GG Anti perspirant roll on deodorant for Rs 279. I think I would be reviewing this one first from the haul. I really have some things to say abput this product.

The lash booster is also available on Oriflame bazaar, that is the sale catalogue for this month. I am not very trusting when it comes to such claims as boosting lashes but since the product was on sale I bought it to try it out. It cost me Rs. 318.

And another item from the Feet up collection. Its a foot bath and is available for Rs. 318.

Feet up Reviving foot spray for Rs. 311.

Okay. I must say I really like these lip stains and lip glosses. Lip glosses applied over the lip stains bring out lovely colors and instantly add color to face. I am really liking these cutsies. I got both of the lip stains and all the lip glosses except the transparent one and also an eye liner in blue color. All these Very me items are for Rs. 398 each.

I was not aware that Oriflame has sample products as well. You can buy them on a very nominal price, test them for a while, if you are satisfied you can then opt for the original product. This is really amazing. I really liked this idea. We here in Pakistan, hardly ever get sample sized products to try them before opting for the real thing. When I got myself these, there were not many samples available. I only got my hands on a couple of them. 4 lipstick samples from the GG collection and 2 lipstick samples from color attraction collection. The GG samples are for Rs. 39 and Color Attraction lipstick samples are for Rs. 29.

I keep on changing my fragrances. I like to keep variety in them as I get bored pretty soon. So I got myself samples of two Oriflame perfumes, Precious ans Sensoria. Precious sample costs Rs. 35  and Sensoria sample is for Rs. 39.

Oriflame power shine lipstick in Pink Hypnotic. This one is for Rs. 632 and the second item you see is a lip brush by Oriflame. It costs Rs. 318 and is a great brush.

Ummmm..... This might seem a little out of place as I have not done any post on Mens' skin care products. For some reason I wanted to get these to see what their Mens' range is like. So I got these for someone, I would not be reviewing them since they wont be in my use and I can not judge them if I am not using them. So anyways, here is what I got:

Glacier Anti perspirant 24Hr roll on deodorant for Rs. 279.

From Oriflame's North range I got this total hair and body wash. I think this product has now been discontinued and wont be available anymore. This is for Rs. 398.

North Anti perspirant spray deodorant for Rs. 552.

North Fairness face wash for Rs. 632.

North after shaving moisture balm which is for Rs. 312.

This is my Oriflame haul for the month of April. Still there are promotions going on some other products too so you never know I might treat myself with more goodies. However I hope you people liked my massive haul. Drop in your comments and let me know as I love to read your feedback. Has anyone else got things from Oriflame this month? How has been your experience? Share your experience with me and others. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

In Memory Of My GG Grandmother Elizabeth...

The O’Sullivan MacCragh Sept is an ancient family. It is universally agreed upon, by all credible annalists and historians, that it represents the most senior bloodline of the Gaelic families. The royal family of the Gaelic Celts in Ireland was known as the Eoghanacht (pronounced Owen-noct), the descendants of Eoghan (pronounced Owen). The most senior branch of the Eoghanacht was the O’Sullivan clan. The O’Sullivan MacCragh, in turn, was the most senior sept of this illustrious family. The significance of this can only be appreciated by comparing the status of the old Irish aristocracy with that of the rest of Europe. If the Irish had followed the English system of royal descent by primogeniture, and if Ireland had maintained its independence from England, an O’Sullivan MacCragh would be king of Ireland today.

Calling All Cookie Lovers...

What is the aroma wafting from Our Scented Cottage today you ask? It is the sweet smell of molasses and spices wafting amongst the very crevices of our abode. Dark, delicious and moist, these molasses cookies are delectable with milk, tea or coffee. They are best if not overbaked so they are still chewy even after cooling. These cookies freeze well and warm up nicely in the microwave.

Molasses Cookies
3/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1/2 cup molasses
2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsps baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
granulated sugar for rolling cookies

In a mixing bowl mix shortening and light brown sugar. (an electric mixer works best) Beat in egg and molasses until well blended.

Add flour, salt, baking soda and spices. Stir until well blended. Chill for 1 hr or until firm. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease baking sheet. Shape dough into small balls about 3/4 inch in diameter and roll in granulated sugar. Place on baking sheet leaving 1-2 inches between each cookie. Bake 8-12 minutes or until set. Cool. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.

*I like to put vanilla ice cream between 2 of these and make ice cream sandwiches. I wrap them in saran wrap or waxed paper and freeze. They are wonderful!!

Unfortunately, it just might be for my blog. It appears that, yet again, I am having issues with blogger and the format. I find it frustrating and more than just a little annoying, and if I am unable to somehow coax it back to it's former state, my blogging will have sadly come to an end. Is anyone else having this problem today and if so, have you been able to reset it?

Natural Garden Pesticide Recipe

We've had rain here in Southern California this past week, and I can't wait to see my flowers burst forth in happiness from it! I have spring fever and luckily, here in our area, I won't have to wait until May to start working in the garden. My little roses are already forming buds and the aphids are already attacking them!

In the past I have not used sprays on my plants. I feed the birds year round and had hoped they would each choose at least one insect to eat per day to repay me for my kindness! This has never happened however, as everything in my little garden lives in harmony, year after year after year. If I didn't know better, I'd think I had the same grasshopper (it's size is a testament to how much he likes my plants)the same snails, the same aphids etc. I know I have the same birds and they all have names. When I attempted to grow tomatoes the caterpillars were such that they prompted their own post on my blog! They were gigantic!

This year, I have to get these insects under control. I want lovely plants but not the toxins. I want to persuade the insects and even Jiminey (the cricket) to visit other gardens in the neighborhood. I'm hoping this recipe for a natural garden pesticide will do the trick.

In a blender puree:
4 onions
2 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons cayenne pepper
1 quart water (1 liter)

Blend ingredients and set the mixture aside. Dilute 2 tablespoons soap flakes in 2 gallons (7.5 liters) water. Pour in the contents from your blender, shake or stir well, and you have a potent, environment-friendly solution to spray on your plants.

[Guest Post]: Do you feel beautiful?

Hi Beauties!

This is a guest post courtesy of Your Guide to Plastic Surgery.

If you do not feel beautiful, consider a plastic surgery procedure to enhance those areas of the body that you are not pleased with, or to trim excess fat from those problem areas. Plastic surgery can improve your appearance and provide you with an emotional boost at the same time.

Physical Effects of Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is a great option for those who have had an issue with their body over many years. For example, if you are not happy with the size or shape of your nose, rhinoplasty can reshape and contour your nose more to your liking. If you have always thought that your ears stick out too far, having your ears pinned to make them appear more sleek and sexy is always an option. If, no matter how much weight you lose on a diet, your thighs never seem to shrink, liposuction may be just the procedure for you.

Some common cosmetic procedures include:

* Breast Augmentation
* Rhinoplasty (nose job)
* Lip Enhancement (Botox is often used)
* Face Lift
* Chin Implants
* Brow Lift
* Tummy Tuck
* Liposuction
* Butt Lift
* Lap Band

Some less common cosmetic procedures might include:

* Buttocks Implants
* Calf Implants
* Breast Reduction
* Gynecomastia (Male breast reduction)

In most cases, the problems that you identify with your appearance may be improved with a cosmetic procedure. Cosmetic procedures make individuals appearance more to their liking resulting in more self confidence and a better perception of their bodies.

Cosmetic Surgery is for Men and Women

Plastic surgery procedures may be performed for both men and women. Certain common procedures decrease the signs of aging, reduce visible wrinkles and correct body issues that interfere with an individual’s ability to be the best they can be. If an individual has been self-conscious about a certain body issue over a long period of time, plastic surgery can rid them of the issue, giving them a whole new outlook on life.

Though more women opt for cosmetic procedures, plastic surgery is gaining in popularity for men as well. As men age, “jowls” begin to appear around the jawline. “Love handles” may appear around the waist line. Other issues may provide observers with tell-tale signs of a man’s true age. Plastic surgery can easily correct such issues, allow a man to look and feel younger and sexier.

Plastic Surgery for Physical Health

Some surgeries, such as Lap Band procedures, may actually enhance the patient’s health. Lap Band surgery installs a band around the stomach, limiting the size of the stomach. The individual gets full on a smaller amount of food at meals and, as a result, they lose weight. Lap Band surgery is an option for individuals who have dieted unsuccessfully in the past, and for those who may be morbidly obese. Many individuals have had Lap Band surgery for weight loss, and have subsequently lost the weight they have tried for years to lose. Lap Band surgery is highly successful and results from the surgery are astounding.

Plastic Surgery for Emotional Health

Plastic surgery will enhance an individual’s self-esteem and boost their confidence. More confidence and self-esteem causes the individual to experience a greater sense of well-being. Many recipients of plastic surgery report that their procedure changed their lives. You can visit this website to watch one woman’s
recovery from breast augmentation surgery.

Plastic Surgery Risks and Complications

Anesthesia

All surgeries carry with them a certain level of risk. First and foremost, there is a risk of being anesthetized. For a small percentage of people, anesthesia presents greater risks than with the general population. Anesthesia risks increase with age. Heart problems may also increase risks of anesthesia. Discuss your personal risks that you may encounter while under general anesthesia.

Blood Loss

Many surgeries carry with them a risk of blood loss. If excessive blood loss occurs during surgery, the surgeon and anesthesiologist are alerted by a drop in blood pressure.

Infection

Surgery risks include infection. As with any surgery, there is a small risk of infection - actually less than 1%. Antibiotics are used to decrease the risk of infection during and after surgery.

Asymmetry

A fairly uncommon risk with cosmetic surgeries is asymmetry. Asymmetry is where one side of the body is not perfectly matched with the other. For example, in a breast augmentation, one breast may appear larger or smaller than the other. Usually, a second surgery is required to correct this condition.

Seroma

Seroma is a condition where fluid collects at or around the surgery site. Seroma may occur with liposuction, tummy tucks or breast augmentations. Seroma may be alleviated by your physician.

Though cosmetic surgery does carry some risk, the benefits far outweigh the risks. For better mental, emotional and physical health, cosmetic surgery provides many benefits for individuals who want to look better and feel better about themselves.

I hope this post was helpful to all out there who want to opt for plastic surgery. And last but not the least a bundle of thanks to the team of Your guide to plastic surgery for chosing my blog for guest post. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

My Spring/Summer Accessorize

Hi Beauties!

Summer is here and its time to shop for summer accessories. I have shopped mine. Have you? Let me share with you my funky, bright colored summer accessories I have purchased so far.

I am very much fond of accessorize and love to shop from here. Although the prices are exorbiantly high as compared to other brands but what to do we don't have a choice. We just suffer because the custom taxes and shipping is real expensive. Still I did not let this dampen my spirit and forgetting the price barrier I shopped luxuriously from Accessorize. So here is what I got myself.

Now there was a time when I could not find anklets in Accessorize store but thanks God this is not the case anymore. Infact I am really surprised to find out so many anklets in their collection this year. This one is a gold colored elastic anklet which is stretchable and has coin hangings. It looks beautiful when worn. This one cost me Rs. 800.

The next item also happens to be an anklet. It has neon pink, orange and yellow beads in it and pink strings hanging as a charm. I just love wearing this one. Its really cute and funky. This one is also for Rs. 800.

This one happens to be the bracelet just like the anklet above. Its a three string writslet and is very delicate and funky. This one is for Rs. 950. Another matching item for this variety is the necklace. Its really long and exactly the same style but I was not interested in buying it so you wont see it in the post. But just letting you girls know in case you feel like buying this set from Accessorize so other matching items are there for this collection.

Here is another anklet. Its a double layered anklet. One is gold colored with gold colored coins hanging and the other layer has multi colored sequins. This one is also for Rs. 800.

This is a really cute and chic anklet. It is also double layered. The aqua marine and gold combination is amazing. I have a dress of similar color scheme and this anklet would perfectly match that dress. This anklet is also priced at Rs. 800 and is totally worth the price.

These are one of my favorites. These elastic bangles are just lovely. When I saw them I knew I have to buy theses. They are so bright and colorful, look amazing with summer clothes. There are five bangles in the set and they are priced at Rs. 1250.

These are boho style bracelets, a set of three. There are several charm items in them. Some have a parrot and some have an elephant. There are available in three different colors. I have them in purple and orange. The third color is blue I guess. These are also priced at Rs. 1250.

This is the only necklace I purchased amidst anklets and bracelets. I am not sure if it has other matching items but I really loved this one. it has pink, peachy pink, coral, gold and neon pink balls and looks so stylish and chic when worn. This is priced at Rs. 1400.

Last jewellery item is another anklet of the bogo style in blue with a parrot hanging as a charm. It has multi colored beads and looks very nice when worn under chooridaars (skinnies) currently in fashion. This is also priced at Rs. 800.

And lastly a wallet. I have lost the receipt for this item but as far as I can recall its priced between Rs. 2200 to Rs. 2500. Yes I know its really high for a wallet and I don't know what made me buy it :( but none the less I love it :)

That was all for my spring/summer accessorize haul. Hope you liked it. Some of the items above have been purchased from Accessorize Xinhua Mall outlet and some from The Mall of Lahore outlet as both tend to have slight variation in the display varieties. You can check out the latest collection online on Accessorize Facebook page by clicking on the following link. Drop in your comments and let me know if you have anything similar from Accessorize. I love to read your comments as they motivate me further. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!
