Nose Mask by Beauty Host

Hi Beauties!

I am here with another post and would be reviewing Nose Mask by Beauty Host. So I went to Victoria Departmental Store and saw this small cute pack and thought why not give this one a try too? So I got this for Rs. 25. This Sunday I used it and here is my experience with this product.  This is how the product packaging is. Its a small plastic pack with the contents inside.

This is the back of the packet with chinese written all over it and few lines of instructions written in English.

So this is how the product looks like. Its like a black thicky liquid, stringy like mozeralla cheese. All you need to do is cleanse your nose and apply a layer of the mask on the nose smoothly. Let it dry for about 15-20 minutes. The mask would dry up just like a peel off mask and you can easily remove the whole of it by stretching and pulling off the mask.

The main ingredients of this product are cherry and comedo free oil. Cherry is for the whitening effect. The nose mask says it would remove the black heads, oil and dirt on the nose making it appear clean and smooth. But this has not been the result I witnessed for myself. The mask is not sticky enough due to which I think it does not extract black heads very effectively. After I peeled off the mask I did not notice any visible difference. All the black heads were still there, I could see them. In addition I donot like the material of the mask. It feels as if one is putting black shoe polish over the nose. Its odorless so smell is not an issue here. Overall my experience has not been so great with this product and I would not waste my Rs. 25  even on such a useless product. I still can use this product twice or thrice more. But I dont think I would again be giving it a try and neither would I recommend you to try it.

Golden Rose Graffiti Nail Art

Hi Beauties!

Here is another nail post for you lovely ladies. I am sure you are going to love this one.

So I have been trying really hard to find shatter/crackle nail colors in Lahore but without success for quite sometime. This Saturday I went to Al Fateh defence and there I spotted this graffiti nail polish by Golden Rose. At first I didnt notice that its actually a shatter polish. I read the instructions at the back of the box and you cannot imagine how excited I was to finally lay my hands on this baby.

So this is the cardboard packing of the nail color with instructions to applying it written on the back of the box.

These shatter polishes are available in several colors like pink, green, white and black. I got myself a black one only just to try out how it works. This is the result this nail colors gives out and I am sure it is similar to any other shatter polish.

On my first finger the effect is not so great reason being I followed the exact instructions mentioned on the box. It says to apply a layer only in the middle of the nail. But I found that applying in the middle results in shatter in the middle only, it does not cover the whole nail. In order to get a shattery effect over the whole nail you need to apply it on the whole nail and apply it real fast. These polishes are liquid but with a thick consistency and dry out ultra fast. By ultra fast I mean ULTRA FAST. It dries simultaneously when you are applying it so better be quick about it. Another thing I would like to mention here is to avoid using it under the fan or direct air flow as it dries out real fast and I am sure you would not want your shatter polish to dry out in its bottle before even getting the chance to flaunt it.

All you need to do is apply any nail color of your choice like I have applied Sunshine by Color Studio Professional. Let it dry out completely. Quickly apply a thin coat of Golden Rose Graffiti Nail color on the nails. It will dry our real fast. Then aaply a top coat over it to seal the shatter effect and also for a dazzling shine. Easy isn't it?

In short I am really pleased with the result of this Graffiti nail color by Golden Rose. I do not know whether this quick drying effect is also with other shatter polishes or is just only with Golden Rose. If anyone of you has some other brand shatter nail colors let me know if that is the case with them as well. Overall I would rate this product a 5/5 and would definitely buy it in other colors as well. I also recommend you to give it a try. I am sure you are going to love it.

Gingko Whitening Mask Powder

Hi Beauties!

How are you all doing? I am here with another post about face care. I went to Victoria Departmental Store and there my eyes fell upon this pack lying on the display counter. Now I am not sure at all if its a Chinese brand or a Japanese but I guess its Chinese. There were several other kinds of asks displayed there but this particular one appealed me because its a whitening mask and secondly the quantity of this product. At that time I was definitely not sure about the quality and results of this mask, I hust wanted to give it a try.

Its a 1000 gms pack and the picture below is the back of the packet with instructions written as to how to use this mask powder.

Upon opening the packet there is another polythene zip lock bag which contains the mask powder.

According to the instructions take 10 gms of the powder in a bowl and mix it in water or milk or egg, whatever suits you. Apply it to your face with the help of a face mask brush and leave it to dry for 15 - 20 minutes.  After that rinse it with water.

My experience with this product has been great. I have used it twice so far and I have noticed a visible difference after using it. My skin feels fresh as if it has been ridden of all dirt. The pores seems to be happy to be able to breathe and it does give a whitening effect right after washing which might fade out later. It also smells nice like Clean & Clear face washes. You can use it twice or thrice in a week. Overall I would give Gingko face powder 4.5/5. I would buy it again for myself and recommend you to try it out as well. It costs Rs. 395 which I think is quite reasonable for the quality and quantity.

Share your views with me. Let me know if anyone of you has tried out this product. How was your experience with it? Stay Healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Whats in the Bag???

Hi Beauties!

Can you guess whats in the bag?

So most of us know that Color Studio Professional line has been launched in Pakistan recently in Karchi and Lahore. And I could not help myself and immediately went to Hyperstar yesterday. Color Studio counter is at display on the ground floor just next to the entrance. You cannot miss it while entering the grocery section. They have an amazing collection with such versatile colors ranging from bright to pastels. You must check it out to experience it yourself. Right now only nail colors and lip glosses are available but I guess they shall expand their collection in future. So anyways I could not resist and got myself a few colors. I guess I'll soon be going again to get some more as I am a big fan of nail colors.

So I got myself these three colors for now. The price for each color has been set Rs. 250 but there is a promotional discount going on till chand raat and you can get each nail color on a 25% discount for Rs 189 only. Another thing about Color Studio brand is that they are a cruelty free brand and are against animal testing. The content of the bottle is 11ml per bottle.

Here is a quick review on one of the nail colors

Bright orange and yellow are very much in vogue this summer. So the first color I chose was this yellow shade named as SUN KISSED. It is a very nice bright yellow color and looks very nice on the nails.

This is the result I got after three coats. It dries out fast when applied on nails which is a good thing for me. I dont like to wait for hours for the nail color to dry. The brush applicator is thick for an excellent nail coverage and the brush holding cap also provides a good grip. Overall I am very happy with this product and totally satisfied. I would definitely buy more colors and recommend you to try them out as well. You can join Color Studio Pakistan page by clicking on this link.

Marylins Manicure Francesa

Hi Beauties!

I am back with another nail post and its a small quick tutorial on how to do french tips yourself. I bought this pack of french tips set yeterday and was so excited to check them out that I also thought to do a quick post for it. So lets get started.

Marylins Manicure Francesa is a 4 bottled set of polishes along 60 stencil tips to give you a perfect manicure look. Beginning from left to right, the clear transparent bottle is the base coat. Next to the base coat, the white colored bottle is for the tips and next two are the top coats. The lighter pink gives a transparent finish while the darker pink color gives a translucent natural pink shade to the nails.

These are the 60 stencil tips that you can stick to your nails right below where you want to polish the tips. If you have an unsteady hand all you have to do is remove a strip from the sheet and stick it on your nail. Using the white color, paint tips without worrying that it didnt go straight because when you will be removing the stencil it will be nice neat curve.

Ok what I did in the above picture is I applied the white color tips to my nails. I didnt apply the base coat or didnt use the stencil because I am pretty much adept making neat curves now. Let the tips dry for a while and apply the top coat of your choice.

And voila! here is the final look of my nails. I used the lighter pink shade as the top coat for a transparent natural look. You would need to practice a little to make nice neat tips, eventually you will get a hang of it.

As for the prosuct review I really liked this set. Its a great Tips set and I am loving it alot. The applicator brushes are perfectly sized to apply tips and top coat and base coat. The only drawback I found with this set is the smell of the nail colors. They have a sharp odor to them but its bearable. I purchased this set for Rs. 185 (unbelievable) from Decent departmental store located in Model Town. Overall I would rate this product a 5/5 ignoring the smell of the polishes and yes I would love to buy this set gain too.

Maple Oat Nut Scones

If you like the Maple Scones at a certain coffee house, you will LOVE these!! They freeze well so I always double the recipe.

Ingredients:

For The Scones

1 cup oats (quick or old-fashioned)

1 1/2 cups flour

2 tablespoons sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon baking powder

2 tablespoons maple syrup

2 1/2 tablespoons cold butter (small pieces)

1 large egg

1/2 cup half-and-half or heavy cream

1/2-3/4 teaspoon maple extract

2/3 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Maple Glaze

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 teaspoon maple extract

5 teaspoons water

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Using a food processor or blender, finely grind oats.

In a mixer, mix flour, oats, sugar, salt and baking powder.

Add maple syrup and butter and mix well.

In a small bowl, beat the egg with the cream and maple extract.

Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture and mix well.

Add pecans and mix just to incorporate.

Place dough on a floured surface. Knead and pat dough into a 8 to 10 inch circle and cut into 8 wedges.

Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Place wedges on top and bake for 13 to 15 minutes, or until light brown.

Remove scones from oven to wire rack. Let cool about 3 to 5 minutes.

Mix glaze ingredients until smooth. Adjust the amount of water to get to the desired consistency. I find it works best when the glaze is thick. Spread lots of glaze over each scone and dry about 15 minutes before serving.

That rice was used in traditional folk medicine? In the past, when someone had a slight ache or pain, a minor cold, or a stiff joint, mothers would use an old remedy to ease the discomfort; a remedy that had been handed down from generation to generation.

With today's technology and an ever-increasing dependence on modern medicine, many seem to have lost the art of simple home remedies. Many home remedies can work as fast as conventional drugs and are as close as your kitchen.

Rice contains high levels of carbohydrates. It is rich in vitamin A, B, C and E. In addition, rice has high levels of potassium, iron, and is sodium-free. Rice is a good digestive aid. It helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Pretty Smooth Nose Pore Strips

Hi Beauties!

Do u hate those black spots appearing on your nose making it look all dark and ugly? If Yes (i am sure) then keep on reading!

So I was grocery shopping with my mom in Hyperstar and i went to the cosmetics section where my eyes fell upon this pack. Upon taking a closer look I saw these are nose pore cleansing strips. To be honest at that time I just put them in my cart because I liked the girl on the packet and i thought what the heck, why not give it a try......!

So a week before I tried them out and here is my experience..... The pack contains 6 strips and each strip is enclosed in a silver wrap. tear open the silver wrap and take the strip out.

Here is how the strip looks. It is white in colour and is pasted on a transparent plastic sheet. Follow the instructions written on the cardbox box and also on the silver wrap for best results. Here's what I did and what you should do as well.... Thoroughly wash your face removing all makeup, dirt and oil. Moisten your nose with a little water afterwards because the strips wont stick if the nose is dry. Remove the transparent plastic and stick the sticky side of the nose strip evenly on the nose avoiding any bubbles. Let it remain for about 15 to 20 minutes. By that time the strip would have dried out. Gently start removing the strip. If its sticking too hard use a little water to remove it. And Voila! there you have it...... a clean, bright, smooth nose, soft to your touch. It removed my black heads and some white heads as well. Now I would not claim that it removes 100% black heads because so far I havent witnessed a single nose pore strip doing such a great job but yes these strips are definitely good. If not all, it removed 93% of my black heads and I am very satisfied with the results of this strip.

I do not remeber the exact price of the product but it ranged between Rs 100-150 I think. Overall I would rate this product as 4.7/5 and would recommend you to try it out. Let me know what you think of my post. Share your views with me. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Hi Beauties!

Today my post is going to be about jewllery. I am sure many of you must be familiar with the brand name BEECH TREE. Its a clothing line but they also have shoes, hand bags and other accessories. Another sister line of Beech tree is their new line by the namr of ABSOLUTE by Beech Tree. Its an accessories line and they have very pretty earings, rings, bracelets and necklaces/ You must visit their outlet in HKB in Liberty Market and DHA. They also have an outlet on M.M. Alam Road in G.N.C Plaza but the last time I went there it only had their clothing line. So last week I went to HKB and was roaming aroung looking at dresses when this pair of earings caught my eye.

These are silver colored round shaped earings. They are more like greyish silver not the sparkly bright silver color. They look so cute on ears. I have been complimented alot whenever I have worn these earings. I got them for Rs. 599 and for the price they are amazing. There is also other cute and pretty stuff on absolute accessories by Beech Tree. You must go and check it out for yourself.

B'Queen Wax

Hi Beauties!

In this post I am going to tell you about my waxing routine. I have a girl who comes to my house to wax me. I dont know but I usually avoid going to salons for waxing. I like doing it in the confines of my room. But sometimes it so happens that there might be occassions where you need to go all beautified or either your waxing girl cannot come to wax you for her own reasons. What to do then? Well for these very reasons I got myself this BQueen wax tub.

Its a 1000g wax tub which means its going to last me quite long. Its a yellowish transparent liquid and is very sticky. You need to apply a very thin layer on your skin, spread it with the help of a stick, put a piece of cloth over it and pull the cloth in the opposite direction of hair growth. Be sure to apply a thin layer of the wax beacuse with excessive wax pulling can be very painful. I have used this wax twice before and so far I am amazed by its result. I have used other local wax brands before. Among them golden girl wax and Lubna's wonder wax are very famous and can be purchsed from any departmental store or small shops. But trust me this wax is above all. There is no need to warm it in oven or microwave. Avoid heating it as it may cause change in the stickiness of the wax and it will be useless then. In summers there is no need of heating it at all and in winters you just have to place it in warm water and that will do the trick. I'll confess that I am very hairy like a gorilla but this wax has done wonders for me. It is less painfun and leaves my skin soft and smooth afterwards without breaking hair. It pulls them off right from the roots.

In order to complement the wax i purchased these cotton wax strips. I got these from Roop Singhar Liberty Markets. I didnt count how many strips are these neither the count has been mentioned on the pack but they are ample enough to last you three to four times for a complete body wax. These strips were for Rs. 130 per packet.

I got the wax tub from New Line cosmetics shop for Rs. 350 which I think is very reasonable for the quantity and quality. All in all I am very satisfied with the product, the only drawback I found with it is that it is very very sticky. You might need to wash your hands and change the stick often during the process because it gets so sticky that handling the strips gets almost impossible. You might need some practice before getting a grip of this wax because it is strongly sticky ans sometimes it gets painful if proper pressure is not applied at the time of pulling the strip. I would rate this product as 4.7/5 for its excellent performance and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Share your views with me girls if anyone of you has tried this wax and how has been your experience with it. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Lakme' Perfect Radiance Fairness Face Wash

Hi Beauties!

Today's post is about Lakme's fairness face wash from their Perfect Radiance line. This line I guess three products, a fairness day cream, fairness face wash and a fairness day lotion. I only got my hands on this fairness face wash.

What Does Lakme Claim:

• Fading away dark spots and blemishes
• Lightening Skin Color
• Helping even out skin tone
• Reducing Oiliness
• Fading away dullness
• Keeping tanning under control

Its gentle, deep cleansing action reveals skin that’s soft, bright and sparkling. For best results, top it up with the Day Cream or the Day Lotion for perfectly smooth, fair skin.

My Thoughts:

I found the packaging to be attractive. Its a very nice light pink colored 100 g tube. Squeeze the tube to make the face wash come out. Its a yellowish sort of cream and I didnot like its smell at all. Instead of smelling like lilly or sacred lotus it smells like some sort of antiseptics found in hospitals. So the smell was a complete turn off. When you rub it between your hands it turns like a white cream. It does not lather but takes the form of a soft cream. I massage my face with it for about a minute and rinse it off with water. I have been using it for quite sometime now and my tube is about to end. However i did not notice any improvement in my fairness or skin. Maybe it works better when backed up by the day lotion and day cream. It does washes off the dirt and grime on face and the face sure feels fresh and washed but after some time i feel the oil on my skin surfaces out again. I have a very dry skin but the harsh weather of Lahore makes my dry skin go oily in summers. So I definitely would not recommend it for girls with oily skins. I got this face wash from Hafiz cosmetics store for Rs. 180. Though it is affordable but its not going to do any wonders for you.

Pros:

Affordable and cheap
Cute packaging
Freshens up skin

Cons:

Does not smell good
Not suitable for oily skin

My Recommendation:

This face wash did not do any wonders for my skin. I have a dry skin but in this hot and humid weather my face oils up, it does wash the face but doen not control the face oil and neither did i notice any improvement in my fairness. So i would not recommend this product at all to anyone. Overall i would rate this product as 2/5 only for the packaging and price affordability.

Share your views with me if anyone of you has tried this product and let me know how was your experience with it...... Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!
