WTF: I tried it to Bump-it

Hi Beauties!

Ok this is a post long due. I admit I should have done this post long time back but just was so lazy but after using the Volume Hair Base I definitely owe this post to all you lovelies. You can check out my review on Volume Hair Base here. This is my first WTF post and yes you are right this means what the fudge! and these posts are in contrast to OMG post.... WTF posts will be on the products with which I have had some really bad experiences. Since I have already given you an idea of what is coming your way in the post so lets get on with the review....

These pictures were taken on the day I got these bump its and was really excited to try them out and was very happy and satisfied with my purchase. I had high hopes blooming within me regarding this product.

So bump its come in a thin cardboard box with the TV advertisement lady on the box advertising the bump its and looking all happy and depicting that bump it is the best solution and magic product to bump up our hair. I must say I was totally taken with the pretty lies :@

The bump its come in a set of 5 with one big bump it, two medium sized bump its and two small sized bump its. I still do not get the point of adding two bump its of the same size when none of them works :/ These are made of solid plasitc, banana shaped inserts with plastic out growths for better hair grip and are available in four colors ranging from light to dark hair. Since I have dark hair I ordered black.

Lets begin with the smallest. If you notice in the picture there are small plastic out growths on the bump it which are like velcro to make the bump it grip the hair better and help it to stay put.

So here is what I did, I combed my hair and took out a section of my hair from the front.

Sectioned hair

Next I placed in the smallest bump it and here is the result I got.

After inserting the bump it

Close up

View from some distance

The bump it did not stay put as it should. Moreover the plastic is visible and does not provide the volume it should be providing to the hair.

Now here is another attempt. Lets give the medium sized bump it a try. Its supposed to be placed in the middle of the head and add some volume and bump to the hair. As you can see in the below picture it surely did add volume but it looks so fake and uneven. So this one did not work even.

This is the largest bump it. I could not even place it on my head and cover with hair. I looked like a cone headed alien. It was horrible.

If you google and search bump its over the internet I would say they have a mix sort of feedback. It worked for some and did not for the rest. Girls having thick fizzy hair, this might work for you but girls with thin, sleek, volume less hair I would not recommend. The instruction leaflet that came within the pack says that you need to set it with hair spray and also might have to tease your hair a bit. If teasing is what is required then why use them anyway, teasing naturally adds some volume and the rest of the job would be done by hair spray so why waste money on bump its then? Secondly bump its really require some practice and you might not get the desired results the very first time. Its hard to cover the plastic with hair. Every now and then the plastic keeps on peeking out of the hair. They look really unnatural and fake as you can see from the above picture. The bump its did not work for me at all and I wasted my money on them. This was the only reason I went for Volume Hair Base as these bump its were a total waste for me. If you have thick hair these might work for you but i would never recommend them for thin hair. It may work for right head and hair type but it surely did not work for me. I would rate this product 1/5. Please keep in mind that this review is based on my personal experience and yours might differ from me. Hope you liked my detailed review. Drop in your comments and let me know. Essence Pure Skin Anti Spot Intensive Night Treatment

Hi Beauties!

If you reside in Lahore, you must be experiencing the same agony I am going through. Whole of Lahore is under construction, its like very other road is being constructed and all one can see is dust in the air. I happen to live close to the main road and my workplace is also nearby and we are having a major road being constructed all over again. It feels as if the air is dusty at all times and is true as well. I happen to have dry skin so acne and pimples are not an issue for me but I sure am sensitive to dust. I get these zits here and there on my face on exposure to dust which is what I am witnessing for some time now. I had to put a stop to it and here is what I got myself to put an end to these every other day zits popping on my face.

I got two very ugly zits on the left side of my face and they left marks. I kept on witnessing these zits appearing on my face every now and then due to dust and also itching in the day time plus itching even after I had removed all my makeup and my skin could breathe easily. Since I like essence cosmetics I decided to give out a try to their pure skin range. I got myself this anti spot intensive night treatment gel tube.

It comes in a soft plastic tube with 40 ml content. The thing I liked about this is, its reasonably priced and the quantity is reasonable enough unlike many zit zappers available in the market at high prices.

A little goes a long way is perfect for this gel. The amount you see on my finger is enough to cover all my itchy problem areas on the face. I apply it to my face before going to bed and it gets absorbed into the skin quickly. Its not sticky at all and smells really nice. I have been using this for more than 2 weeks now. What I have observed so far is that it works in the way that it does not let any new zits appear on my skin, the ones already existing are gone. It surely prevents new zits from developing but I do not think it works in removing the spot marks. I mean it may lighten them a bit but its slow to work that way. Do not expect it to clear out the marks within a few days or over a week. It does not do that. Another thing I noticed is that my skin goes really dry since I have started using this. It really de hydrates the skin. But I guess this is a good thing for all those having oily skins out there but for a person like me having dry skin, NOT good.  The best part is the quantity is ample enough and it would last you quite sometime as opposed to other zit zappers. Overall I would rate this product 4.5/5 and would totally recommend it to all who have pimples and zits. In case you do not have access to Essence cosmetics I can get it for you. You can order it from me. It would cost Rs. 450. Hope you liked my review. Drop in your comments and let me know. I love to read your feedback. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Struggling with Nail Art Stamping

Hi Beauites!

Remember my first post on nail art stamping? No? Let me freshen up your mind then. Here is the link to the post. That was my first attempt to nail art stamping. Wasn't that great but I still am trying :) Here is another attempt I made over the long weekend. This one is also not really successful but so what? I am learning, maybe slow but at least I am trying :p

I liked two design plates on Meem's Nail Art page and ordered them instantly. These plates cost me Rs. 650, Rs. 300 for each plate and Rs. 50 as the delivery charges. I got them the very next day I ordered them.

These are the two plates I ordered. The blue color is plastic sheet coating. You need to remove this sheet in order to use the plate. In order to check out Meem's Nail Art Facebook page here is the link to her page. She has a nice range of stamping plates and is also offering some wonderful discounts. Do not miss it!

Here is another attempt of nail art stamping. The yellow base has been done by Color studio professional nail color in Sunshine. The stamping has been done in green nail art stamping colors by GCOCL. I did not get the design perfectly on the nails but what the heck! I am still learning :p You can see my index finger has only got half of the design and the middle finger has it only in the middle of the nail. Oh well I am sure I'll improve with time. I intend to share my every nail art with you people so that you may also be a part of it and enjoy me goofing around with nail art :) Hope you liked my post. Drop in you comments and let me know. I love to read your feedback and do not forget to take part in the ongoing contest. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Boots Cucumber whitening Facial wash

Hi Beauties!

With summer just around the nook its time to get vigilant about skin care. Heat and UV rays are surely set to damage our skins and those of us having oily skins, breakouts are just what we need to avoid. So here is a review on a face wash that I have been using for quite sometime now and its about to end. So I thought why not review it before it finishes.

This is a cucumber face wash by Boots, its more like a drug store product. I got this from Hyperstar for Rs. 225. The main ingredient of this face wash is cucumber. Cucumber has multiple beneficial properties for the skin. Our skin and cucumber share the same level of hydrogen thus cucumber helps in focusing on all the problem areas of the skin. Cucumber has a cooling effect on the skin. Thus it helps to soften and soothe, clean and cleanse the skin.

This face wash has cucumber plus whitening ingredients and vitamins in it. It comes in a 100 ml soft plastic pack and is travel friendly size.

Here is how it looks like. Its white creamy in color and the texture is also cream like. Since its a creamy face wash it requires a little more amount of the product to lather well on face. I have a dry skin, no break out or pimples. This face wash works fine for me. I massage it on my face and rinse with water. What I notice after washing is my skin is soft, smooth, fresh and hydrated. I feel it clean and light. However I do not find it having any whitening qualities. I did not notice any improvement in my skin color. I would not recommend this to people having oily skins. This face wash tends to have moisturising properties and works great for people with dry skins but oily skin already has excessive moisture and I fear that it might break out skin. If you are looking for a normal everyday use face wash this is the product for you. But do not expect it to do any wonders. It will clean and cleanse your skin and that is I guess fine for everyday wash. It has a very faint cucumber smell which is almost unnoticeable but it is there. Overall I would rate this product 3.5/5. I leave the choice upon you to give it a try or not. This is my personal experience with the product. Hope you liked my review. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

OMG: Volume Hair Base!!!

Hi Beauties!

Remember the bumpy hair fashion of Bollywood in the 80's? Those perfect bumps and volumized hair with not a single stray and loose curls at the bottom? I really love those. Also the not so old and somewhat recent bump at the forehead also known as poof. This poof kind of suits me, infact this was the sort of hair style I could easily manage and carry off well.

I used to make the poof by back combing my hair and spraying hair spray to add volume and pinning it up. I was looking for something that would save my time and yet add volume to my hair without any back combing and spraying. I saw these volume hair base at born pretty store and so badly wanted to get my hands on them. Then I saw these on Le Desir and instantly placed an order. Read further to find out my experience with volume hair base.

The volume hair base came in this colorful plastic cover. It has this graphic girl at the cover with bumpy hair. The back of the pack has instructions on using it of which I have no idea. Since I do not understand the language :p All I could grasp from the image illustrations was, lift some hair up, place the volume hair base insert and cover it with the lifted hair. Easy peazy, eh?

Inside the pack are these two inserts. The above is smaller in size and the later one is comparitively large. So you can use them according to your need. Small one for a smaller poof and large one for a bigger bump.

Taking a closer look, you can see a stripe on the insert. its a velcro. The best part about velcro is, once you place it in your hair it sticks to them, grips the hair and the insert doesn't slip. It stays in place and you can dance and jump with joy to your content without worrying that it might drop out.

Both the upper and lower sides of the insert have been provided with velcro so it grips the hair from above and below and makes it sit in place. The inserts are oblong in shape like an egg. They are thicker in the beginning and get slim from the back so the bumpy part is what volumizes the hair.

I naturally have thick and volume full hair. But its been six months that I got my hair rebonded so they have lost the volume and are sleek straight. The reason I am telling you this is to show you how volume hair base works for thin volume less hair. See my picture below, it has been taken after inserting the small hair base.

WITHOUT any hair spray or back combing this is the volume it has given to my hair. What I have done here is I combed my hair thoroughly. Lifted few of my hair from the front, put the insert in place and dropped back the lifted hair and pinned them up. Simple isn't it?

I have so far only tried the small insert and it has worked great for me. It saves me alot of time in the morning, is really convenient to use and is totally hassle free. It hides well under the hair and looks natural and doesnt move so no worries about it popping out of the hair. Its really light weight so one doesnt feel anything on the head. You can just put it on your head and forget all about it being there even. This seriously is an OMG product for me as its working really well. I am so glad I made a good choice by buying this product. I'll soon try out the other things and share my views with you. I rate this product a total 5/5.

As I mentioned before I got this from Le Desir, I am really greatful to them for letting me have my hands on this product. You can check out their Facebook page here and journey through the different variety of products they have got. Hope you liked my post. If you are into bumps and poofs do try out this product, its totally amazing. Drop in your comments. I love reading them. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Lucky Number Four

Numbers have been thought to hold mystic significance from the beginning of time. If you have a lucky number, or a certain number keeps coming up in your life, it would be wise to pay attention to that number's meaning. Some believe that a person's number could even represent the development of the soul.

If Four is your lucky number, it's your day. The number four is closely connected to the order of the world. It deals with stability and invokes the grounded nature of all things. Consider the four seasons, four directions and four elements. Fours represent solidity, calmness, and home. A recurrence of four in your life may signify the need to get back to your roots, center yourself, or even "plant" yourself. Fours also indicate a need for persistence and endurance.

Victorian Cure For Swollen Feet

This may or may not work but the next time I find myself with swollen ankles I may just give it a try.

FROM 1890...

To cure swollen feet quickly, bathe or soak them in a mixture of half water and half natural apple cider vinegar. You could also wrap them in cloths soaked with this mixture. You will soon see the swelling go down.

Im blown away with Nail Art

Hi Beauites!

Something has happened to me :o I have fallen in love with nail art. Im totally blown away with the awesome nail art designs be it stickers, laces, fimos, stamping or nail tapes. I was short of few things so I hauled a little and what other place could have been better than JMC nail art . This is a quick post about what I got for myself I shall review each product later. So here is what I ordered.

1. Nail art brush
2. Dotting tool

I saw these really awesome nail art videos on youtube where people make these really amazing figures and designs by nail art brush and dotting tool so I thought why not give it out a try myself. So lets see what will come out by the Picasso residing in me. Soon you will see a master piece by me :p

3. Nail Tapes in Golden and black

4. XXL nail plate (Image courtesy of JMC nail art)

I had been drooling over this plate. Since my craze has gotten the better of me, I desperately wanted to get this plate to try out different designs on my nails.

This is all I ordered. The plate is for Rs. 2700, the tapes are for Rs. 100 each. The dotting tool is for Rs. 300 and the nail art brush is for Rs. 150. Below are a few things which have been sent to me by JMC as a complimentary gift. I am really really thankful to JMC for being kind enough to send me these. The gift includes a feather hair extention, multicolored micro beads and glitter. I am really excited to try out the feather hair extension and will soon be sharing a tutorial and review on it. I have mentioned the prices above for each item so that you may compare the prices yourself and witness that JMC is without doubt the most reasonable nail art services provider so far.

This is not it. I have another something to share with you ;)

This is my attempt at nail stamping, a design I chose from the large plate. I took this picture after three days of application so yes I can see the tips are chipped and the stamping is not all that great. My point here is to show you that you don't have to be perfect eveytime. I seriously could not figure out the direction to stamp on my nails. You can see the stripes are in different directions on all nails :p Since I am so crazy for nail art these days I am going to practice and achieve better results in future :)

This has been my third shopping experience from JMC and it has been great like before. You can check out JMC on Faceook by clicking on this link . Hope you liked my haul and once again Thank you JMC for the gifts. Share in your views and experiences with me and other girls if you have shopped before at JMC, this might be helpful to all those new people who fear online shopping. Drop in your comments as I love to read them. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!
