Essence my skin moisturizing cream

Hi Beauties!

Its summer and our skin stays overly moisturized with the oil oozing out of the skin more or less like Oil refineries. Still we can not neglect the importance of a moisturizer. In order to keep the skin hydrated and fresh moisturizer plays a vital role. What I use as a moisturizer is, Essence my skin intensively caring cream for normal to dry skin.

Essence my skin moisturizing cream comes in a cardboad box and is very eye catching. I do not have the cardboard packing as I threw it away before taking pictures of it. The cream itself is in a small plastic jar with 50 ml content.

The cream is very light orange in color more like light peach. I don't know what exactly this color is called as I am not good with color naming but for sure its neither pink nor white. As you can see here my cream is nearing the end and it occured to me that I should review it before I completely finish it up.

Here is a swatch of the cream. You may notice its really smooth and creamy. The consistency is good. It isnt runny and neither its very thick. Its just right as it should be for a cream. My experience with this moisturizer has been really great. I use it everyday whenever I wash my face or cleanse it I use this cream afterwards. Its very moisturizing and isn't oily at all. It quickly absorbs into the skin and does not leave a greasy residue over the skin. It moisturises the skin without making it oily or greasy.  It hydrates and nourishes the skin but do not expect it to do any miracles for you. It serves the purpose of a moisturizer, it does not make you fair or makes your acne scars disappear. I would rate it 3.5/5 and since I have already hit the pit I may buy it again. I purchased this from Enem Liberty Market for Rs. 360 I think. Do not remember exactly.

Hope you liked my review. Comment and tell me. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

OMG: Neutrogena Wave

Hi Beauties!

Alot of you have been requesting me to review Neutrogen wave. I am sure many of you want to try it out. I purchased this from Al Fatah Liberty Market for Rs. 845. I believe its available for different prices at different stores, like I got this for Rs. 845 from Al Fatah but its being sold for Rs. 1200 at VIP cosmetics store. So I would advise you to look out for the best bargain for yourself.

Neutrogen a wave comes in a thin cardboard box with the device visible in the box under a transparent thick plastic sheet. It has how to use instructions written at the back and also the cautions for using the device.

Neutrogena wave comes with 14 cleansing pads, a duracell battery and the device itself.

14 cleasning pads. 7 pads in each pack

The power button side

The head

Batteries side

Battery insert

My Experience:

When I asked the Sales Representative price for this product I found it to be reasonable enough. So I purchased it to see how it works and what it does. I must say I am really pleased with its performance. Neutrogena lives upto its name. This device undoubtedly is amazing and does its job well. All I did was, put in the battery, and attached one of the cleansing pad to its head. The device head has something which lets the pad stick to it. Just wet the attached pad under a tap of running water and you are ready to go. I pushed the power button and it started vibrating like an epilator. I moved the device in circular motions all over my face and neck. The cleansing pad once activated produced lather and the pad isn't harsh on the skin at all. I repeated circular motions all over the face for almost 5 to 7 minutes, switched off the power, rinsed my face with water and discarded the cleansing pad. Please keep in mind that these pads are disposable and can not be used more than once. For hygiene purposes and to avoid germs breeding on your face please discard it after use and do not think of letting it dry and using it the next time :/

This is a cleansing tool and designed to be used on daily purposes. It is your own choice how often you want to use it. Some people use it twice a day, some once daily and some who use it twice or thrice a week. However Neutrogena claims that its safe for daily usage as its an alternative to your daily cleansing routine. I found my skin really clean and smooth after its use. You can actually feel the difference. I read quite alot of reviews for this product over the internet and majority of the reviews were positive. Even people with oily skins claimed it to be an excellent though there were some who claimed that this product broke them out. SIne I have a dry to combination skin it worked perfectly well for me. You may have to try it to find out the result for yourself.

I also purchased a set of refills as well. The refill set contains 30 cleasnsing pads and is priced at Rs. 760. Exfoliating pads are also available. I think I am going to buy the exfoliating pads too. So that I may cleanse and exfoliate skin at the same time.

I love this device and would totally recommend you girls giving it a try. I hope this review answers all your concerns regarding Neutrogen Wave. In case you want to know more just drop in a comment :) Hope you liked my review. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Essence pure skin Anti-spot gel

Hi Beauties!

Remember my post on pure skin anti spot Intensive night treatment? No? Here is the link to that post. Anti spot Intensive night treatment gel is something to use on spots and zits at night. However this review is on the anti spot gel which you can use anytime on zits, pimples and spots. I being the lazy girl I am, I stopped using the night treatment gel and guess what due to all the dust around I have got two really really ugly pimples just close to my mouth. These are the gruesome ones that hurt and are deeply rooted under the skin. I used this anti sopt gel on them, read further to know my experience of it.

Essence pure skin anti spot gel comes in a 15ml soft tube with a transparent plastic cap and a nozel mouth for precise application.

Its transparent in color and works really well. It has a light fragrance resembling to Clean and clear face washes. What I do is that I squueze the tube a little just on top of the zit and it pours out a drop on the zit. It dries on its own within a minute or two. You might notice a white dry layer where it was applied. Let it be there, it acts like a protective covering over the zit thus preventing the dust and other pollutants to come in contact with the zit and worsening it further. My experience with this anti spot gel has been fine. I carry it in my hand bag at all times. Its small and really handy. Whenever I feel that my pimple is itching I apply it and it soothes the itching right away. To be honest its not a magical gel that you apply it and within a few hours the pimple disappears. It works steadily by reducing the size of the pimple, reducing the redness and pain and then finally the mark of the pimple. It really works well for zapping the pimple and zits but isn't quick to make the after marks and spots disappear. The best feature is its handy and compact so whenever you have a zit problem pop out the gel and zap it! I do not remember the price exactly but it was somewhere between Rs. 350 to Rs. 450. For the price I would say its very economical since a little goes a long way and it works well too. All in all I would rate it 4/5 and highly recommend it.

Hope you liked my review. Drop in your comments and let me know. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Cream

Hi Beauties!

Finally I got the time to do a post :( I am so badly caught up these days in office and at home, hardly getting time to do blogging. Moreover I am without camera these days, which means, I can not take pictures for any new posts. Lets see when I get my hands on camera (maybe a new one :p). Enough with my babbling lets get to the review.

I once saw face blotting papers by The Face Shop on Cutibubbli Obsessed with makeup's Facebook page. I thought this brand's products are not available in Pakistan. Actually the whole range is not available however, I got my hands on the cleansing face wash. I don't know why but I had a certain expectation attached with this product. Lets find out whether this product was able to meet my expectations or not.

The Face Shop is a Korean brand which was launched in 2003 and now has expanded its business to 21 countires around the world with approximately 930 stores. I am not aware but I think The Face Shop products are not vastly available in Pakistan and neither are any outlets for this brand here but somehow the Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam was available at Raja Sahib Link Road for Rs. 475. I felt like giving it a try as I like to try out new face washes and cleansers. I sort of find it fun to find out which product lives up to the claims it makes.

The reason I purchased this cleansing foam was that I found it really appealing to look at. The light pink color is what really attracted me to this cleansing foam and when I saw its from The Face Shop, I really wanted to try it out. The cleanser comes in 150 ml soft tube packing with a black pop open cap. The texture of the cleanser is like a cream, its thick. There is a very light hint of fragrance in it which is not much noticeable.

I kind of like my cleansers and face washes to be lathery. This one is like a cream and does not lather. Hence I use more quantity of it. I am indifferent regarding this product. I mean I did not notice any considerable benefits after using it. It surely makes the skin soft, smooth and clean but that is that. Nothing more. The effect is temporary and you wont notice anything different. It was a good to try out for once product but I do not think I would be returning back to using it again. I'll probably pass this one as an ordinary product with nothing extra ordinary. I rate it a 3/5. Hope you liked my review. Drop in your comments and let me know what you think of it. I love reading your feedback. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Essence Pure Skin Anti Spot Intensive Night Treatment

Hi Beauties!

If you reside in Lahore, you must be experiencing the same agony I am going through. Whole of Lahore is under construction, its like very other road is being constructed and all one can see is dust in the air. I happen to live close to the main road and my workplace is also nearby and we are having a major road being constructed all over again. It feels as if the air is dusty at all times and is true as well. I happen to have dry skin so acne and pimples are not an issue for me but I sure am sensitive to dust. I get these zits here and there on my face on exposure to dust which is what I am witnessing for some time now. I had to put a stop to it and here is what I got myself to put an end to these every other day zits popping on my face.

I got two very ugly zits on the left side of my face and they left marks. I kept on witnessing these zits appearing on my face every now and then due to dust and also itching in the day time plus itching even after I had removed all my makeup and my skin could breathe easily. Since I like essence cosmetics I decided to give out a try to their pure skin range. I got myself this anti spot intensive night treatment gel tube.

It comes in a soft plastic tube with 40 ml content. The thing I liked about this is, its reasonably priced and the quantity is reasonable enough unlike many zit zappers available in the market at high prices.

A little goes a long way is perfect for this gel. The amount you see on my finger is enough to cover all my itchy problem areas on the face. I apply it to my face before going to bed and it gets absorbed into the skin quickly. Its not sticky at all and smells really nice. I have been using this for more than 2 weeks now. What I have observed so far is that it works in the way that it does not let any new zits appear on my skin, the ones already existing are gone. It surely prevents new zits from developing but I do not think it works in removing the spot marks. I mean it may lighten them a bit but its slow to work that way. Do not expect it to clear out the marks within a few days or over a week. It does not do that. Another thing I noticed is that my skin goes really dry since I have started using this. It really de hydrates the skin. But I guess this is a good thing for all those having oily skins out there but for a person like me having dry skin, NOT good.  The best part is the quantity is ample enough and it would last you quite sometime as opposed to other zit zappers. Overall I would rate this product 4.5/5 and would totally recommend it to all who have pimples and zits. In case you do not have access to Essence cosmetics I can get it for you. You can order it from me. It would cost Rs. 450. Hope you liked my review. Drop in your comments and let me know. I love to read your feedback. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

[Guest Post] 5 Things About Wrinkles That Are Actually True

As we age, wrinkles become the bane of us all. Sure, they’re a totally natural part of the aging process and can add a little character to our face, but with time, they take over our face, making us look weathered and tired. Not a pretty sight, indeed!

The best way to eliminate your wrinkles is by learning more about them so you understand what they actually are. Did you know these 5 things about wrinkles that are actually true?

1. Wrinkles are lines and creases in the skin that result form the effects of aging and damaging environmental factors (i.e. sun exposure, aridity). Over time, the skin thins and weakens as collagen, elastin and moisture levels deplete. Your skin becomes more fragile, and eventually starts to sag, forming wrinkles and bags. Prevention is the best way to stop development, although some treatments can help treat existing problems.

2. There are two types of wrinkles: dynamic and static. While both look the same, it’s how they’re formed that is different. Dynamic wrinkles are created from repeatedly using your facial muscles, such as when you smile, squint and frown – in fact, relaxing the muscles is how BOTOX treats dynamic wrinkles. Static wrinkles are created by either the effect of dynamic wrinkles or other factors.

3. While you may faithfully follow a skincare regimen and take care of your skin, certain lifestyle habits can still contribute to their formation. Smoking is one habit that accelerates the development of wrinkles, particularly around your eyes and mouth. Suntanning is another habit that contributes directly to wrinkles, as UV exposure has been scientifically linked to the destruction of healthy and elastic skin.

4. People with dry skin get wrinkles faster than people with oily skin. The natural oils in your skin, known as sebum, protect the skin from the environment and keep it hydrated. But when there aren’t enough oils being produced, your skin is more prone to damage and consequently, wrinkles. If you’ve got dry skin, make sure you apply moisturizer regularly to keep your skin supple.

5. Your beauty sleep may be giving you wrinkles, not helping you prevent them – but only if you’re a front sleeper. Imagine how long your face is pressed into the pillow every night, squishing up your skin around your eyes. This habit contributes to wrinkles because the creases created around your eyes eventually become permanent as skin continues to weaken with age and becomes less elastic. Your skin can no longer bounce back as nicely as when you’re young, which is why any wrinkles you form through all hours of the night become permanent over time.

Flormar facial cleansing gel

Hi Beauties!

How are you all doing? Hope you are all pepped up for the winters :) I am posting another face care post today hope you will like it.  So a month or so back I went to Hyperstar shopping mall and they have RIOS outlet there which sells Flormar and Rivaaj UK products. They have other imported products as well but they do not have a huge variety of other brands. I saw Flormar personal care products every time I went there and decided to get myself one this time. They have scrubs, body creams, hand creams but I got myself a face wash in Chamomile.

Its a purple pink colored 255ml face wash tube. Squeeze the bottle a little to take the product out. The face wash is enriched with Vitamin E and daisy extracts to cleanse the skin perfectly.

Its a transparent colored liquid and the consistency is runny sort. So you need to keep the tube tightly lidded otherwise it may leak and run out.

I have used it for quite sometime now and I am not greatly impressed by this product. Its like any other average face wash and would not be doing any wonders for you. Although it does make the skin clean, fresh and smooth. The skin also feels hydrated and after towel drying skin remains soft. My skin is dry so I do not know how it will work for an oily skin since I do not have any acne issues so I am not sure if it will be suitable for oily and acne prone skin. It has a mild fragrance of chamomile flower but I do not like it. I think Flormar really needs to work out on their fragrances in body and face products. However I do have noticed that as the weather is changing, my skin is becoming dry. After using this face wash my face does not go all dry and crackly. This face wash is priced at Rs. 450 which I think is expensive for an average face wash.

Overall I would rate the product 3/5. It can be used as a daily face wash if you do not have any skin issues because it does make the skin clean, smooth and soft. But I do not like the fragrance, its runny consistency and its price. I do not think I would be buying this product again.

Hope you liked my review. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Boots cucumber whitening facial mask

Hi Beauties!

Hope you are doing good and taming your skin for winters. Well sometime back I went to VIP Liberty Markets Lahore and while browsing through cosmetics my eyes fell upon this facial mask. I thought about giving it a try.

Its a cucumber whitening facial mask by Boots and claims to be suitable for all skin types. It isn't a liquid or powdery mask but is a facial pack that is its a face shaped skin dripping in the solution. You just need to open the layers of the face pack and place it on your face adjusting according to the nose and eye slots.

Although the packing is a plain white plastic wrapper and looks quite unappealing but yet I thought why not give it a try, after all its a Boots product. My experience of this face mask was nothing extra ordinary. I opened the wrapper, took out the face film and opened the layers to place it over my face. I kept it on my face for about 20 minutes and rinsed my face with tap water. My face definitely felt refreshed and hydrated. I felt as if each pore of my face is able to breathe. The skin felt smooth, soft and bright. However the effect fades in a day or two. So it is not long lasting. But its a good treatment for your skin if you are short of time and want something quick to hydrate and nourish your skin.

My overall rating for the product would be 2.5/5 for its performance and packaging. Although it cost me Rs. 145 only but I do not think I would be buying this product again as the results are quite temporary and would not recommend you buying it either.

Share your views with me girls if anyone of you has tried this product before. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Nose Mask by Beauty Host

Hi Beauties!

I am here with another post and would be reviewing Nose Mask by Beauty Host. So I went to Victoria Departmental Store and saw this small cute pack and thought why not give this one a try too? So I got this for Rs. 25. This Sunday I used it and here is my experience with this product.  This is how the product packaging is. Its a small plastic pack with the contents inside.

This is the back of the packet with chinese written all over it and few lines of instructions written in English.

So this is how the product looks like. Its like a black thicky liquid, stringy like mozeralla cheese. All you need to do is cleanse your nose and apply a layer of the mask on the nose smoothly. Let it dry for about 15-20 minutes. The mask would dry up just like a peel off mask and you can easily remove the whole of it by stretching and pulling off the mask.

The main ingredients of this product are cherry and comedo free oil. Cherry is for the whitening effect. The nose mask says it would remove the black heads, oil and dirt on the nose making it appear clean and smooth. But this has not been the result I witnessed for myself. The mask is not sticky enough due to which I think it does not extract black heads very effectively. After I peeled off the mask I did not notice any visible difference. All the black heads were still there, I could see them. In addition I donot like the material of the mask. It feels as if one is putting black shoe polish over the nose. Its odorless so smell is not an issue here. Overall my experience has not been so great with this product and I would not waste my Rs. 25  even on such a useless product. I still can use this product twice or thrice more. But I dont think I would again be giving it a try and neither would I recommend you to try it.

Share your views with me did you like my post or not. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Gingko Whitening Mask Powder

Hi Beauties!

How are you all doing? I am here with another post about face care. I went to Victoria Departmental Store and there my eyes fell upon this pack lying on the display counter. Now I am not sure at all if its a Chinese brand or a Japanese but I guess its Chinese. There were several other kinds of asks displayed there but this particular one appealed me because its a whitening mask and secondly the quantity of this product. At that time I was definitely not sure about the quality and results of this mask, I hust wanted to give it a try.

Its a 1000 gms pack and the picture below is the back of the packet with instructions written as to how to use this mask powder.

Upon opening the packet there is another polythene zip lock bag which contains the mask powder.

According to the instructions take 10 gms of the powder in a bowl and mix it in water or milk or egg, whatever suits you. Apply it to your face with the help of a face mask brush and leave it to dry for 15 - 20 minutes.  After that rinse it with water.

My experience with this product has been great. I have used it twice so far and I have noticed a visible difference after using it. My skin feels fresh as if it has been ridden of all dirt. The pores seems to be happy to be able to breathe and it does give a whitening effect right after washing which might fade out later. It also smells nice like Clean & Clear face washes. You can use it twice or thrice in a week. Overall I would give Gingko face powder 4.5/5. I would buy it again for myself and recommend you to try it out as well. It costs Rs. 395 which I think is quite reasonable for the quality and quantity.

Share your views with me. Let me know if anyone of you has tried out this product. How was your experience with it? Stay Healthy and beautiful. Take care!
