Head bands from Haroon's

Hi Beauties!

Head bands are really in fashion these days for quite some time now. I remember when I was a kid I used to have a huge head band collection. I had them in almost all shades, designs and patterns ranging from stripes to checks, florals to cartoons, plains to plastics and what not. As I grew up, head bands were replaced by pony tails and braids. They got associated to be used by kids only. Rarely any adult wearing head bands was seen. But now once again head bands are all the rage. I, now having rebonded hair, head band is so convenient for me plus it suits me too <3.

I just went to Haroon's for a casual stroll in the store and there I saw these lovely new head bands and they were so so cute too. I still feel like buying some more :p

All in all I got myself 5 head bands.

This one is in off white with mauve colored polka dots just on the bow of the head band. This neutral shade can match with several pastel and neutral colored dresses. Luckily I have matching shoes too :) I got this one for Rs. 225.

I dont know what this blue is called but this head band is a darker dull shade of blue with black polka dots and bunny ears like bow. This band is made up of silky cloth material hence it has shine to it, rest of the bands are matte. I really like this one, its so cute <3. This one is also for Rs. 225.

This one has a white base and small pink flowers and green leaves. This one is very decent and sobre and will go with several clothes. This headband costs Rs. 175.

Here is another one with polka dots. I think I am quite obsessed with polka dots these days :p This one is also for Rs. 175.

Last but not the least the ferozi colored head band (Thank God I knew the name of the color :p) Its plain and simple and goes with light blues and other dresses in contrast. This one is also for Rs. 175.

This is it for my head band hauling. I hope you liked my bands. These bands are reasonably priced and are of good quality. They are also quite comfortable but when worn for long they do hurt the head a little and this goes for most of the head bands, so its not a big deal. Haroon's always comes up with pretty and cute chic things and head bands are another addition to it. I purchased these from Haroon's D.H.A. Y Block outlet and there are still more available in other cute designs. You should definitely check these out. Haroon's outlets are in Vogue Towers and Qaddafi Stadium Lahore. Other outlets are in Rawalpindi and Islamabad too. Has anyone of you bought these cuties? Do you have any like me? Share them with me. Drop in your comments and let me know. Hope you liked the review. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

WTF: I tried it to Bump-it

Hi Beauties!

Ok this is a post long due. I admit I should have done this post long time back but just was so lazy but after using the Volume Hair Base I definitely owe this post to all you lovelies. You can check out my review on Volume Hair Base here. This is my first WTF post and yes you are right this means what the fudge! and these posts are in contrast to OMG post.... WTF posts will be on the products with which I have had some really bad experiences. Since I have already given you an idea of what is coming your way in the post so lets get on with the review....

These pictures were taken on the day I got these bump its and was really excited to try them out and was very happy and satisfied with my purchase. I had high hopes blooming within me regarding this product.

So bump its come in a thin cardboard box with the TV advertisement lady on the box advertising the bump its and looking all happy and depicting that bump it is the best solution and magic product to bump up our hair. I must say I was totally taken with the pretty lies :@

The bump its come in a set of 5 with one big bump it, two medium sized bump its and two small sized bump its. I still do not get the point of adding two bump its of the same size when none of them works :/ These are made of solid plasitc, banana shaped inserts with plastic out growths for better hair grip and are available in four colors ranging from light to dark hair. Since I have dark hair I ordered black.

Lets begin with the smallest. If you notice in the picture there are small plastic out growths on the bump it which are like velcro to make the bump it grip the hair better and help it to stay put.

So here is what I did, I combed my hair and took out a section of my hair from the front.

Sectioned hair

Next I placed in the smallest bump it and here is the result I got.

After inserting the bump it

Close up

View from some distance

The bump it did not stay put as it should. Moreover the plastic is visible and does not provide the volume it should be providing to the hair.

Now here is another attempt. Lets give the medium sized bump it a try. Its supposed to be placed in the middle of the head and add some volume and bump to the hair. As you can see in the below picture it surely did add volume but it looks so fake and uneven. So this one did not work even.

This is the largest bump it. I could not even place it on my head and cover with hair. I looked like a cone headed alien. It was horrible.

If you google and search bump its over the internet I would say they have a mix sort of feedback. It worked for some and did not for the rest. Girls having thick fizzy hair, this might work for you but girls with thin, sleek, volume less hair I would not recommend. The instruction leaflet that came within the pack says that you need to set it with hair spray and also might have to tease your hair a bit. If teasing is what is required then why use them anyway, teasing naturally adds some volume and the rest of the job would be done by hair spray so why waste money on bump its then? Secondly bump its really require some practice and you might not get the desired results the very first time. Its hard to cover the plastic with hair. Every now and then the plastic keeps on peeking out of the hair. They look really unnatural and fake as you can see from the above picture. The bump its did not work for me at all and I wasted my money on them. This was the only reason I went for Volume Hair Base as these bump its were a total waste for me. If you have thick hair these might work for you but i would never recommend them for thin hair. It may work for right head and hair type but it surely did not work for me. I would rate this product 1/5. Please keep in mind that this review is based on my personal experience and yours might differ from me. Hope you liked my detailed review. Drop in your comments and let me know. OMG: Volume Hair Base!!!

Hi Beauties!

Remember the bumpy hair fashion of Bollywood in the 80's? Those perfect bumps and volumized hair with not a single stray and loose curls at the bottom? I really love those. Also the not so old and somewhat recent bump at the forehead also known as poof. This poof kind of suits me, infact this was the sort of hair style I could easily manage and carry off well.

I used to make the poof by back combing my hair and spraying hair spray to add volume and pinning it up. I was looking for something that would save my time and yet add volume to my hair without any back combing and spraying. I saw these volume hair base at born pretty store and so badly wanted to get my hands on them. Then I saw these on Le Desir and instantly placed an order. Read further to find out my experience with volume hair base.

The volume hair base came in this colorful plastic cover. It has this graphic girl at the cover with bumpy hair. The back of the pack has instructions on using it of which I have no idea. Since I do not understand the language :p All I could grasp from the image illustrations was, lift some hair up, place the volume hair base insert and cover it with the lifted hair. Easy peazy, eh?

Inside the pack are these two inserts. The above is smaller in size and the later one is comparitively large. So you can use them according to your need. Small one for a smaller poof and large one for a bigger bump.

Taking a closer look, you can see a stripe on the insert. its a velcro. The best part about velcro is, once you place it in your hair it sticks to them, grips the hair and the insert doesn't slip. It stays in place and you can dance and jump with joy to your content without worrying that it might drop out.

Both the upper and lower sides of the insert have been provided with velcro so it grips the hair from above and below and makes it sit in place. The inserts are oblong in shape like an egg. They are thicker in the beginning and get slim from the back so the bumpy part is what volumizes the hair.

I naturally have thick and volume full hair. But its been six months that I got my hair rebonded so they have lost the volume and are sleek straight. The reason I am telling you this is to show you how volume hair base works for thin volume less hair. See my picture below, it has been taken after inserting the small hair base.

WITHOUT any hair spray or back combing this is the volume it has given to my hair. What I have done here is I combed my hair thoroughly. Lifted few of my hair from the front, put the insert in place and dropped back the lifted hair and pinned them up. Simple isn't it?

I have so far only tried the small insert and it has worked great for me. It saves me alot of time in the morning, is really convenient to use and is totally hassle free. It hides well under the hair and looks natural and doesnt move so no worries about it popping out of the hair. Its really light weight so one doesnt feel anything on the head. You can just put it on your head and forget all about it being there even. This seriously is an OMG product for me as its working really well. I am so glad I made a good choice by buying this product. I'll soon try out the other things and share my views with you. I rate this product a total 5/5.

As I mentioned before I got this from Le Desir, I am really greatful to them for letting me have my hands on this product. You can check out their Facebook page here and journey through the different variety of products they have got. Hope you liked my post. If you are into bumps and poofs do try out this product, its totally amazing. Drop in your comments. I love reading them. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!

Accessorize for the head

Hi Beauties!

So I made another trip to Accessorize and got my hair some cute stuff.

I got 2 headbands and a bow clip. They are from the Monsoon line of Accessorize.

The bow clip is of dark blue color more like navy blue I guess with pink yellow flowers and green leaves.... really cute!

The 2 matching headbands I got. One is of similar Navy blue color like the bow clip, other one has a white base.

I have been using these headbands for a few days and what I have noticed is that unlike other headbands they dont cause any pain or pressure at the back of your ears. They are made up of some very nice soft plastic and are very light in weight as well. No matter I wear them for the whole day my are behind the ears doesnt hurt at all. The bow clip is for Rs. 550 or Rs. 650 while the headbands cost Rs. 950. This collection is available at Mall of Lahore outlet and not the Xinhua Mall outlet.

I would rate them 5/5 for the style, cuteness and comfort. Share your views by commenting if you liked my purchase. Stay healthy and beautiful. Take care!
